New Everton Stadium

Is BM big enough to hold a running track? Putting aside the logistics of converting, can they even squeeze the whole track (more than just the oval, there's the 110m straight to accommodate too).

It was easier for City as they weren't clamouring for a stadium move, so just aligned with the COM build conversion.

Personally, I would accept 1 or 2 seasons of a half-built stadium with temporary stands to allow them to use it for athletics, then convert like the Etihad. Better that than waiting til 2023/24 to move in.

Quite a few times Anderson has stated how soon we could be in the new ground. I don't doubt Mr Moshiri, but how quickly can they realistically design and build a stadium of such stature?

The Etihad was a great job in terms of converting from athletics to football and getting fans relatively close to the pitch, but it's still more than a bit crap. Terrible atmosphere.

Grounds like Goodison are what makes the premier league and English football special and new stadiums should always seek to put history and atmosphere first in their design. For me, being an Evertonian wouldn't feel quite the same if we lost the atmosphere that intimidates opponents and referees so just to save money. I love the Goodison Fume. There's nothing on earth like it and I believe we'll lose it in a stadium with curved stands like the Etihad. Something like what Spurs are doing would be great.
