New Everton Stadium

We’re missing a trick here. Tony Bellew is 500-1 to be our next manager, just shove a million on him, appoint him then sack him once the money hits the bank. That’ll pay for a nice stadium.......

There's no possible way that'd backfire. Ge-ni-us!

Could the team's current form have something to do with the lack of stadium info? Are people's arses going because they don't want to commit to a 60,000 seater stadium when the team could potentially be playing in the Championship, saddled with an astronomical wage bill? Yearly payments towards the stadium have to be met after all...
You never know, maybe they do have something to tell but won't do so precisely because we are doing so poorly. They might be aware how cynical our fans are. Maybe expect an announcement when we start winning again; whenever that is.

The stadium is obviously now on the back burner. The uncertainty over a new manager and whether we will be able to stay in the Premier League means that we cannot count on getting the finance package together. This especially applies to naming rights.

Dan Meis has not posted much lately, if the board are making decisions like they are with the management of the team and transfers then god help us as far as the stadium is concerned.
Not updated BMD stadium blog in almost 2 months, he's as tardy as Everton with that document they were publishing 3 months ago. Yet we are told everything is fine by Joe Anderson. Once again Everton keeping us all in the dark!

Hang on though. Why would investors get nervous as the loan has LCC acting as a guarantor? By definition, the repayments are guaranteed.

It may effect sponsorship/naming rights though, but whatever someone will invest in the brand or they won't, you could sign a contract now when you are top of the table, doesn't mean you aren't getting relegated next year. I guess most companies will have clauses and reductions of payments if we are not in the highest division for maximum global exposure.

Personally I don't think being in this position will delay anything, we still have to get planning permission and that can be done regardless. There will be plenty of time to mothball next summer after our fate is known.
