New Everton Stadium

Whether it technically requires a change in legislation or not, what it undoubtedly requires is will within government and there's no sign of that. Of the main parties I believe only the Lib Dems have tentatively said they might support it at some point in the future maybe. The best you can do is futureproof (make sure the stand can cope with extra capacity) and push for it. Or futureproof and hope others have successfully pushed for it by the time your new ground opens.

I get the impression that clubs are waiting for the government to do something and vice versa.

Nobody seems to want go out on a limb with it.

The problem with the proposed new stadium is we need a team to play in it, at the moment we don't have one!!!!! By the time it is built we could be in a different league?

...I just hope Liverpool City Council are more efficient in supporting the filling in of Bramley Moore docks than they are at filling in the numerous potholes in our roads. Come on Joe.

Let's hope the fee Everton will pay for the loan will generate more funds to pay to fix the potholes.

I believe the 'fee' paid by Everton will be higher than that earned having the money stuck in a (fat cat) bank, and will also help regenerate what is a currently a missed opportunity

That would be a welcome addition to the pre match routine.

A few alternate images of the LO stadium. Have to admit with a few footy tweaks I reckon it would look amazing.

Just reading some past comments seeing this post and the photo's brings home how much this generically speaking would be awesome for us.

Yes I agree it does look impressive, however I think it would be a huge loss in seating. Also doesn't give that wall of noise, intimate feel, steep stand. But would give us somthing to look at when we go 2 down before half time.

With Brexit a lot of companies will leave Britain and Dublin is hoping to get some of these
Inversely companies who has buisness in Britain but no physical presence will want bases in Britain
What do they need
International airport for ease of access
Check
Modern purpose built affordable office space
The docks will provide that at a cheaper cost than London or Manchester
High quality high speed fibre broadband
Again shouldn’t be a problem.
A young educated workforce.
If Liverpool can’t provide it they will attract workers from other areas / countries
High quality reasonably priced accommodation for its workers near to the office
Docks will provide this
The workers want somewhere near where they can shop , eat , socialise
The docks will provide this.
Dublin had all this and then the bottleneck in housing came
Big companies are finding it hard to attract workers to Dublin because a 2 bed apt costs 1650-2200 Euro a month to rent and this has to be reflected in pay.
Liverpool can overcome all these issues and with Council aid ( reduced rates etc ) companies will come.
Corestate has a very small presence in Britain at the moment but they bought the Liver building with Moshiri , ???
Corestate recently bought a 670 m Euro apt developement in Europe which they will rent out and manage
They own all type of commercial office and residential buildings in Europe which they rent out and manage.
Maybe they will do the same in Liverpool
There are a lot of big boys waiting in the wings for this to start
I understand the sceptics but I was the same about Dublin docks 30 yrs ago.
When I look at it now it’s totally unrecognisable

With respect Liverpool isn't Dublin. It isn't a capital city and unlike Dublin has to compete with other more powerful UK cities. There isn't a chance that if Brexit happens Liverpool will attract a single thing that London wants. What London wants it takes and throws scraps elsewhere. And London's preferred alternative is Manchester.

I desperately hope I am wrong but a lifetime of living here makes you extremely sceptical. I respect the views suggesting plans are in place and don't doubt the people posting it, but I'll believe it when I see it when major banking etc move to Liverpool docks.

If it is built then according to Dave it will be a millstone round the clubs neck for decades because on his estimates the debt will be 600 mill to 1 bill! Plus we will have new owners because that carpetbagger Mosh will cash in to make a big profit for himself and family.

Me I think the stadium will be built, yes there will be a big debt to clear no doubt of that but if the club has such a big debt then how can Mosh possibly sell and make a mountain of money? So to me Mosh is in for the long haul.
Or the quick sale...google - Greater fool theory

Every single Dubliner has the same reservations.
The IFSC is built on part of the old docks and Sherriff st.
In its day even police dogs went down Sherriff st in Pairs
It was full of gangsters but a lot of honest hard working people as well.
The rest of the docks was a no go area
If the right incentives ie affordable office space etc are there businesses will come
It’s a global village now.
My wages are done in India FFS
