New Everton Stadium

What?? Talking tosh? talking the club down??
I might be having a swipe at the way the club is run but not the club it's self. Since the 80's we have rebuilt the park end adding no corporate facilities. There is a large gap opening between us and most other clubs (never mind the near by ones). The facts are there is no money to build a new stadium with the corporate facilities to compete. The chairman wont sell so there will be no Roman Abramovich riding in to finance such a stadium and if this board try, they would do it by selling whatever playing assets they can, leaving a generation of evertonians with mid table mediocrity. By the time the stadium starts paying for it's self, the club will be so far out of touch, challenging for top 4 will seem like a distant dream.
I love the club, but not the board.
So lets just stay in the lovely but most outdated stadium in the Premiership.
The New Stadium will happen . Just accept it.
Goodison is landlocked ,footprint far too small & to redevelop would be astronomic.
If you think sitting in the Upper Bullens /Gwladys st is a great experience, if for the only reason they are "historic beauties" then thats up to you.
Meanwhile when your dealing with your ricked neck and leg room fit for a small kid the rest of the football world sit in state of the art stadiums.
And by the way you were talking the club down.

How was I talking the club down, by saying that City, United and Liverpool all have a far bigger corporate reach than us? Even if we build a new stadium, the only way to catch them on a corporate level is with a Sheikh Mansour style takeover and I don't see it happening. I'm just being realistic. And I take your point on goodison.

People will still clap the fat, pie headed b****** when his face appears on the big screen.
Sadly a lot of blues nowdays just plod along accepting mediocrity.

Club has been treading water for 20 years and will do so for another 20 but thats okay because the worlds greatest evertonian is running the show.

Ends on a 'positive note', according to O'Keeffe:

I dont find that particularly inspiring, tbh. But I suppose it goes with the 'let's shove a few corporate boxes into one of the existing stands and boost revenue by a few quid' plan he advocates.

A chillingly uninventive and conservative seminar, in my opinion.

The whole brought up to be a "victim" speech he said ( what O'Keefe posted anyway ) is an absolute load of crap. That's called belittling the club he supports. I'm sincerely not arsed what the shyte spend, who they buy, how they somehow cheat their way through games/seasons and get away with all kinds of shyte because every now and then moments like last season's slippy g game or crystanbul or even Sunday occur and it's hard to stop laughing for any longer than a minute. Victims my arse, we have the best seat in the house watching that shower of shyte implode on an hourly/weekly/monthly basis depending how many Kopites you know.

The major problem with a renovated Goodison is the cost and the fact that the footprint around the ground would need to be made much bigger.

Look at Liverpool - they spent 10-15 years buying up all the properties around Anfield and managing them into a decline, to the point they had to be knocked down anyway.

By and large, the streets around Goodison are nearly all fully occupied. There's a church and a primary school that would need relocating - can you imagine the protest groups regarding both???!!!!

The stadium is landlocked and cannot be improved, and the funding isn't there to do it either.

A brand new stadium with large plot of land and the ability to plan a purpose built arena for the 21st century needs is what is needed at this point.

Anything else is a sticking plaster on a bullet wound.

At last a dose of reality which basically is what Beardwood was getting to. Ignore DaveK he is divorced from reality with his banal comments all he ever does is knock down. Never comes up with positivity as to how Everton should be built up.

There is a problem with a new stadium and it if is cost, WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY!! NO MATTER WHERE IT COULD BE LOCATED.

Essentially the problem with Everton is BK and co that is where the real culpability lies. Beardwood is not wrong in his comments on BK, this guy just wants to hold out the begging bowl but makes sure he keeps hold of the handle.

I should have added that we do not have the money to rebuild any of the stands never mind a new stadium and as for corporate boxes who is going to rent them. We could not fill them.

Yeah, that had me rolling my eyes, I must say. There's a difference between acknowledging the reality you're under a disadvantage competitively (and that being passed down the generations) and feeling powerless and put upon.

I dont remember feeling like a victim in the 80s when we stopped them and turned them over.

We don't have the commercial jazz to make this a reality unfortunately and the business acumen of our board hinder us even more.

Liverpool get £25m a season from New Balance and have just announced a new extensions with what looks like £30m a season from Standard Chartered.

Why do you think we have this kitbag deal, why the Chang deal was renewed at £16m for 3 years...
yup our business sense is absolutely terrible
