New Everton Stadium

Go on his website and the first thing you see is his magnificent new Roma stadium. On his twitter it's the Bramley Moore sign. The link between these two great Dan Meis stadia? Neither exist. And both are a long way from becoming a reality.

Fake news indeed.

Also, that pic that's been doing the rounds, glass with boats nearby and "Everton" in big letters. Someone kept asking if it was his because it's rubbish. Loads of people were saying no it looks like a three year olds work. Meis replied simply "pretty good rendering for a three year old" telling you pretty much that yes, indeed it's his.

You're following this really closely aren't you?!

Where are you getting these figures from
Our midweek attendances In Europe were below 30,000 (this was before Koeman was under pressure )
People just expecting another 30000 fans to come out of the wood work, get a grip lads.

The corporate seats is where the money is, but there's not much demand for that here

League cup Southampton another one barley got 30,000 through the door.

So I don't know where people are getting 60,000 from, people just looking at the top 6 teams and thinking if they can do it so can we, they have the demand we havent.

50,000 is suitable but why pay 500m for 10000 more seats, hence why next year this whole thing will be scrapped

Shut up you saddo. Why are you picking attendances from games outside of the league to suit your argument? Because it's farcical, that's why.

Does it really cost much more in the grand scheme of things to build a 65K over a 55K seater stadium?

Once it's built how much does it cost to maintain "unused seats"?

Besides home games, the whole point is to be an attractive venue to host events for Stand Ups, Concerts, Tournaments etc.

Worst case, stick a branded tarp over it. Am sure we would be able to squeeze some cash out of Sportpesa or Angry Birds for some more ad space.
Meis said at St.Lukes that the last 5 or 10,000 seats in a stadium are the most expensive because you have to increase the infrastructure accordingly. Also he said the site is very tight , so don't expect the top figure for capacity. I'm expecting 55,000 max. I grabbed a very quick chat with him ,he's sound ,not an attention seeker as some would have it. If he'll stop and speak to an arl scruff like me he's ok I reckon.

I too spoke to him and he didn't suggest 60,000 or even slightly more wasn't possible.
My guess is he can and will design to 60,000 or more... if, the board confirm the necessary level of funding can be provided.

Bt that logic, aim for 75k then drop it to 65k.

well the 55k figure is just my opinion and I'd be happy to see that filled regular.. In fact I'd be happy to see any stadium on that site before I pop me clogs.

Out of interest I went back to the very first post on this thread in April 2014 and at that point we were even contemplating a ground share with the RS!!!! Ok, so we are 4 and a half years on but, guys, look how much ground had been covered in that time. A new majority owner, major on field investment, acquisition (or at least the promise of land through a long term lease) of an iconic setting on the Banks of the Royal Blue Mersey, a complete overhaul in the expectations of both the Club and the fans a la no more 'punching above our weight'.....so let's just have a bit more patience. We all know what we want and dream of but we've come a heck of s long way in what really is a comparitively short period of time. Let's face it, according to @RobSpurs and his mate (both eloquent observers of such things) the Spuds started their process of ground regeneration in 2008 and they weren't actually moving.
KTF...it will happen but as Blues I think we just like moaning for the sake of it!

The Spurs situation was broken up with a bid for the Olympic Stadium which dragged out till late 2011. Then they had issues with planning permission etc etc

Having witnessed a few new stadium moves bite the dust, fans will be anxious and thinking " It's not going to happen " thats human nature

...Meis must be restricted in what he can communicate because of the governance process but I suppose if he kept totally quiet then folk would complain. I get the impression his messages are cryptic to let fans know something is happening. It’s all a bit of a tease but perhaps it’s better than nothing.
They are 100% cryptic. The pic in his lady tweet defo symbolises the new stadium design..

We've been told it looks like it has grown out the Dock... Ie.: that mountain.
