New Everton Stadium

Perfect for us, this.

If we ever get to where, for example, Spurs are now, we'll expand to 62k. A number we'd all have been made up with. The stadium being a 52k seater will absolutely not stop us getting to that level. Rather, it'll help us.
It would, as long as the design and materials used are stunning.

I think people would compromise on size if the stadium blew their socks off.

Maybe this is what Meis has in mind
12500 seats converted to 1.8 safe standing seats would give us an extra 10,000 seats
Either that or the framework and facilities to put in the extra 10k will be in the original design so as not to affect the aesthetics when completed

The Green Guide also has a maximum rake for standing areas, and I doubt your single-tier stand will be that shallow all the way up (it definitely doesn't look it from the seating plans seen so far). I know for a fact Populous had to design the lower section of our south stand shallower to allow for a standing section.

So I seriously doubt if more than half your single-tier stand will be converted to standing (and the seating plans seen already show this).

My guess is they've managed to work out a way of expanding the small north stand shown in the seating plans. That would seem the most obvious way of getting more seats in. Whether it'd be as much as 10k I'm not sure.

Shape is totally wrong to be anything to do with us.

I disagree, the inital renders released around the time of the Meis workshops had the stands similiar to that.

Interesting the outer layer around those stands - if that is our stadium (possibly with how Meis drops hints all the time re BMD) I wonder if the outside is that weird shape in brickwork with the inside more oval in shape?

Costs a lot more to extend over time and probably have to close part of the ground whilst work goes on.

Always remember the half cocked park end stand was built ( the Everton way) with the capacity to add a second tier , which was obviously never done and why oh why it wasn’t built like that in the first place is beyond me !

Thanks for that
I’m not well up on the finer points but I’m sure you have learned a lot from watching your stadium being designed and built

I’d disagree with you there 10-15 million I would think, 17 at a push over a period of 50 years. Pretty negligible really when out look at the revenue it creates, it’s well with our means. Use sponsoring the trading ground really, or perhaps interestingly.

Going to be over 25 years or less mate if all the chatter is correct. Which would be understandable as no commercial backer is going to let us pay back half a billion over 50 years.
