I think the 10,000 increase is not going to be an extension as such, but the ripping out of seats , when as they are hoping, all standing areas are again allowed .Costs a lot more to extend over time and probably have to close part of the ground whilst work goes on.
It would, as long as the design and materials used are stunning.Perfect for us, this.
If we ever get to where, for example, Spurs are now, we'll expand to 62k. A number we'd all have been made up with. The stadium being a 52k seater will absolutely not stop us getting to that level. Rather, it'll help us.
Maybe this is what Meis has in mind
12500 seats converted to 1.8 safe standing seats would give us an extra 10,000 seats
Either that or the framework and facilities to put in the extra 10k will be in the original design so as not to affect the aesthetics when completed
Shape is totally wrong to be anything to do with us.
Costs a lot more to extend over time and probably have to close part of the ground whilst work goes on.
??????
Thanks for thatThe Green Guide also has a maximum rake for standing areas, and I doubt your single-tier stand will be that shallow all the way up (it definitely doesn't look it from the seating plans seen so far). I know for a fact Populous had to design the lower section of our south stand shallower to allow for a standing section.
So I seriously doubt if more than half your single-tier stand will be converted to standing (and the seating plans seen already show this).
My guess is they've managed to work out a way of expanding the small north stand shown in the seating plans. That would seem the most obvious way of getting more seats in. Whether it'd be as much as 10k I'm not sure.
I don't believe that. Last I heard they had 52,000 season ticket holders. I don't think they all turn up but that's the same at every club.Itz landan tho mate and they give tickets away
It all boils down to £££££££'sAlways remember the half cocked park end stand was built ( the Everton way) with the capacity to add a second tier , which was obviously never done and why oh why it wasn’t built like that in the first place is beyond me !
I’d disagree with you there 10-15 million I would think, 17 at a push over a period of 50 years. Pretty negligible really when out look at the revenue it creates, it’s well with our means. Use sponsoring the trading ground really, or perhaps interestingly.
Shape of the playing area, number of entrances, shape of the seating. I'm going to say that's an ice hockey arena.
Either that or he's leaving a generous amount of room between the goals and the first row at BMD!
So you think we should be aiming bigger to mate?
