New Everton Stadium

Wasn't the Park End designed to be easily expandable? Even till recently it would've made sense, especially with a few much needed boxes in it. Why is everything about this club so small time, anyone know? From sponsors like Umbro and Sportpesa, most of the players and managers we get, and anyone decent we have they're soon off to clubs with more ambition, and now this. The new ground won't even be as big as Newcastle's, let alone West Ham's. Let that sink in

Site around that model looks to be the same layout as BMD... The two ends looks similar-ish size however. That wasn't in the original spec talked about. All single tier - unless that is a model of lower tiers only - design too. That also is different from earlier mockups. But it could also enable upper tiers to be added at a later date when needed.

Disappointing it's not 55K but the most important thing is that the Stadium gets built.

There are several aspects to getting this new stadium and other important factors for the fans included location and design. The club delivered on the location when loads of our fans were complaining abut how EFC would be small time and opt for Stonebridge Cross. The club has chosen the right option with location and i'd say it's an ambitious location to build our new ground.

Then there is design which we obviously haven't seen yet but the club are focusing on the right things, where the likes of West Ham, Arsenal, Man City etc have all been lumbered with a Stadium that has lost any unique feel as they're just the same with differing capacities.

The option to expand is there if we do turn successful again and if the demand is still huge even with a 52K Capacity.

Most of these other clubs with bigger grounds have had their matchday experience pretty much ruined from building capacities too high. And they all lie about their crowds in terms of numbers that are actually in the ground so West Ham claiming they get 56K when they don't doesn't really impress me.

It's a cautious small time approach taken by uninspiring people. If you want to become a big club then you have to start acting like a big club.

52k isn't big enough. Anyone who thinks it is clearly hasn't paid attention the last 5 years. You always want room for growth too. You look forward and try to better yourself. This design is backward looking and trying to hold our position rather than move forward.

I think it's a let down. I think it's the wrong decision. We were planning on building a similar sized stadium in 2007/2008. No progression in a decade it seems. We will regret this.

I see where you're coming from in that it is too small but look at the bigger picture.

Are we better off...

At Goodison with a 39K capacity
At BMD with a 52K capacity
At somewhere like Kirkby or Stonebridge Cross with 55-60K?

I know which i'd rather. The club have far more information available to them in terms of obstacles to overcome to get the ground built than our fans do. There will be a reason why they have chosen 52K because they were previously hoping for 55K at the Kings Dock and Kenwright even said he wanted 55K. So they won't have just gone for 52K "to be small time".

Totally agree. Wasn't it Kings Dock at 55,000?

This has split our fan base yet again. Loads (like me) totally underwhelmed by this. Plenty are clearly saying 52k is right and others saying 55k would be right. If it was 55,000 i'd still be peeved!

I'd be interested to know why so low. Is it finance or is it the architect who's Roma design is 52,000? I can live with an incremental increase, like City, I have my doubts whether they will though! Be ambitious like Tottenham and just do it.

I really wanted Everton to build big. Something that really knocks the socks off many stadia. Something that can host European finals. Hopefully there's still time to revise this.

52k is about right
The club say 10000 waiting list for st, that will be around 6 or 7000 that actually get one and an additional 5000 for general sale.

It's the right figure.

The money is in the corporate facilities but there isn't a massive demand for that here. People pay up to 1k a ticket at some clubs but no one will want to pay that here
I wondered how long it would be before you rocked up
