New Everton Stadium

Just seen an exclusive pic. Not sure if I should share it, so only click the spoiler if you really cannot wait for the official reveal later in the week...

Looks far better on the inside if you ask me...

Meis has got his work cut out making anything look half as good. We could have been the next Blackburn Rovers but alas it was not to be.

The feel of the stadium will be highly dependent on the success of the team. Arsenal fans see the Emirates as the start of their less successful years and question why they bothered to move from Highbury. If we could get early success in the new stadium after years of failure at Goodison it would help the transition process no end.

The Emirates blew me away when I first saw it. The exterior looked very impressive. It was only once I was in the ground that I felt a lack of connection to what was happening on the pitch and decided it felt a bit soulless. Like you say though, if they'd been winning titles there it would've probably felt a lot more passionate.

It is more important to me to have a ground with atmosphere and with a great connection to the location than a huge oversize bowl.
If that means we have between 52,000 55,000 capacity that’s a choice to make, especially as ticket revenue seems to be a smaller percentage of overall revenue

And it's also an admission that we can't compete with the teams above us.

Exactly. And you can bet your bottom dollar that every single part of the planning has been steered, cleared, and advised on by planning experts. That aint to say it will be waved through, it wont be, cos thats not allowed.

But there is little chance of a curve ball objection or issue coming up.
Not even from that unholy trinity - the coracle paddlers, the crested newt fanciers and Jeff from W Derby?

And it's also an admission that we can't compete with the teams above us.
I get that, but those teams above us come from larger cities with bigger populations and we share ours with one as well.
As I meant in terms of setting the right stadium up now, with the situation we are, I’m not disappointed in the capacity is less than 61878.

He plans to do it...with other people's cash. It'll get the same result as the last carpetbagger's cunning plan too: a kick up the arse and binned.
Well of course he does.
There are only 3 business options.
You pay,
I pay,
Somebody else pays
You know the longterm plan is to build it...with somebody elses money, just like you do with your house if you buy one...sell it on for more than you laid out, just like you do with your house.

The long term debt?? Well that's another thread.
But the theory is that they won't lend it to you if they don't think you can pay it back
