Just another thought about the fan zone at the BMD. If it isn't central to the plans to increase revenue, what's it doing there? They could have built the ground where the fan zone is and saved themselves £100 million not filling the dock in.

I wonder if it serves a secondary purpose as a marshalling/evacuation area? I can't see any stadium, particularly a dockside one, getting planning without space around it for crowds to be held if required?

According to the BBC Man United have asked permission to install rail seating at old Trafford. With a trial to take place later this year. Spurs and wolves expected to follow suit. The article quotes a recent government report which found that rail seating enhanced supporter safety
I know we have plans for rail seating but not really sure what it is is. Does it mean you can have 2 people instead of 1 in the space, as I know rail seating was quoted as a way of increasing our capacity

This article explains it:

but take a look at the images as they really tell the story. There's still seats so they could sell the area as 1:1 - 1 person per seat, or if it's standing they could change the ratio, depending on what safety regulations would allow...

Didn't realise how vast the new metro trams are in Manchester.

Our city would definitely need something like that to link the north of the city centre with the arena, Albert dock and new stadium.

There is no way there will be trams or trains put in. Look at the cost of HS2, they have just delayed that again and it will be years before that comes this far north, why would any Tory government invest in Liverpool? Best we can hope for is the soccerbus

I wouldn’t be to quick , lots of talk of connecting the new Paddington Village , University area with the city centre , JLA and Bramley Moore Dock using trackless Trams.

Spurs were the first P/L English club to have rail seating, (I think 8,000 of em?)

I think it’s almost a certainty that rail seating will be legal by 2023-24 season but it’s what the ratio will be.

If it’s 1:1 it’s pretty pointless 1:1.5 and it might be worth thinking about.
