New Everton Stadium

Whatever happened with the loop/bestway site...did that eventually get redeveloped?

*EDIT*

I'm aware there were size problems with that one but was it mainly because of the money needed to alter it? If so, maybe it'd be more viable now.

While there are 484 pages on this, what doesn't seem to have registered is that most evertonians don't care where we play. The Kirkby debacle proved this, yes the majority of the people who voted voted to move, but by far the biggest majority didn't bother to vote at all. A picture of apathy, let mosh make the decision I'm sure it'll be the right one

Let's talk realism, by all means. I think some people are under the illusion that the land Peel have at the docks is worth far more than it probably is. As much as we might love our city and see the huge potential it has, lets not kid ourselves. We are not London or Manhattan. We are not even (as much as it pains me to say it) Manchester. In fact we are so far down the pecking order of provincial cities, we are not even on the planned HS3, never mind HS2. We are a run down provincial English city and need to start playing catch up and quickly.

Peel have a list of world renowned developers and companies kicking their door down, do they? No, I don't think so either. Hardly any progress since Liverpool and Wirral Waters was announced several years ago. Let's not delude ourselves we'll be getting our own version of Canary Wharf any time soon. Peel might very well need Farhad Moshiri and his contacts more than he needs them. That's the reality.

I don't know the ins and outs of anything me regarding stadium costs or locations but I read an interesting article a couple of days ago in the Echo. It was something to do with a convention taking place in France ( I think ) this week and there were 32 projects in Liverpool heading over looking to sell their ideas to potential investors. It mentions that Peel was one of them with their 5.5bn waterfront project so maybe you are right, maybe there's still opportunities for us to get involved in this so called "prime" land of theirs because money talks.

Seemed to me that there's a lot of "projects" in Liverpool without the investment confirmed for some of them
