New Everton Stadium

So? Id quess he's much more educated on everton related things than many here and has probably talked with people who know exactly what proper redevelopment would mean.

Fair enough mate, I'll bow down to his superior Evertonianism and understanding of how long "proper redevelopment" takes.

Settle down Finners. Probably the same person who said Stones to Chelsea was done, Austin was done, the American takeover was done etc etc.

A fan site shouldn't have any credence over any other account. It's just someone with a little more time on their hands and/or marketing savvy.

Ah...Yes...probs bs then.

Anything's an option. Only lack of vision and lack of money prevents redevelopment.

Lack of space as well. We have to acquire more land and expand the footprint...and that is the opinion of a good friend of mine who is an architect at Populous who says we will have to completely rebuild as the existing structures, foundations and power/water supplies are not fit for a modernised ground.

I still think it should be explored but we are kidding ourselves if we don't accept it will be hard, slow and expensive vs. a new build if we want a similar quality end product.

I'm sure that there will be loads of rumours and ITK's with all sort of tippets of information but the truth is we will not know what the plans are until we have heard from the club as to what their preferred option is.

Hope this helps

Yours

Whatever happened with the loop/bestway site...did that eventually get redeveloped?

*EDIT*

I'm aware there were size problems with that one but was it mainly because of the money needed to alter it? If so, maybe it'd be more viable now.

Not big enough, land locked by motorways, would need bridges or tunnels, no near parking, not suitable because of these issues for other activities.

A few titbits I've been hearing.

Everton party that met with LCC about Stonebridge Cross included that new board member - Ranatysev or whatever his name is - and it was before he was announced as a Director. Moshiri clearly making stadium a priority from the off.
Ball still firmly in Everton's court in terms of returning with formal proposals and proof of funding.

Still no idea whether any other sites are being looked at, but person I've spoke to scoffed completely at any notion of waterfront or Stanley Park - although interestingly didn't poo-pooh the idea of redeveloping Goodison.

Council still considering when best to announce WHP as being off. Could possible be before the election, but Richard Kemp's little protest at the park would now mean any such announcement would look like a political victory for him, rather than a vote winner for Labour, so may be put off.

I know Liverpool had the permits to start planning a stadium or whatever at Stanley Park but realisticly is there any chance of it actually happening.

I've never been to England let alone Liverpool but if people didn't want us to build on the parklands at Walton Hall Park how would they all be pro building on the Stanley Park parklands?
