New Everton Stadium

Hate to

Hate to pish on your chips mate , but as of late yesterday afternoon I was informed the club are looking at 3 different options.
Specifically Stonebridge is not under consideration and Walton Hall Park is very much on the agenda , there were actually 6 sites identified.
I havent a clue who gives you the info but this is from someone who I obviously cannot name. Ps redevelopment aint happening either.

Cheers for that Bill........

Not pishing on my chips at all mate.
I'm only passing on what I've heard. My source isn't connected to the club so only has limited info. I've said all along that stonebridge was not necessarily the only site being looked at, but simply one that my source knew there had been a meeting about. I said that might not come to anything, just that it was a potential iron in the fire, amongst possible others.

Be surprised about whp if it happens, from what I've heard to date. Would depend very very heavily on one or two key key individuals pulling rank to make it happen, due to the controversy around greenfield sites in general.

Personally I hope you're right - I'm open to the right stadium as part of the right total scheme almost anywhere within Liverpool, but clearly the preference for us all is to be central and as close to goodison as possible.

If there is 3 primary sites on our watchlist and WHP is one of them ....Which places would the other two be? what would be your personal quess?

haha where did this whole monorail stuff start by the way? can't go 3 pages without having to listen to that song again

There used to be a member on here called "inner-city". He believed strongly that any new stadium required the reopening of the "outer loop line". (Google it) He might be right, but he posted about it loads from 2009 to 2013, someone posted the video of the Simpsons "monorail" song in response, and it grew from there...

They'll never re-open the loop line railway because there's too much wildlife that lives on parts of that route now. Some rare species I'm told - although there may be some merit to the idea of opening it. It assumes of course, that Everton find a new site close to the line (which WHP is of course, by Richard Kelly Drive).

Personally I'm not keen on the idea of us building on green space, as I said yesterday.
