New Everton Stadium

I am also in agreement that it would be the best location. I guess you could argue that there would also be no change of use either, I mean, the fields are currently used as football pitches. I also don't think we would encounter the same level of opposition as we would if we tried to proceed with the WHP plan.
Sounds a good option has anyone ( the club ,the council ect ) put then area forward as a possibility ?

Not yet, I don't believe. And it was never really put forward as an option by KEIOC during the Kirkby saga, which makes you wonder why not? It would definitely be a brilliant location though imo.

I've been banging that drum for beards! Total no-brainer!

Sandhills train station <200 yds away, with trains in & out every five minutes. (View of the barn from platform blocked by view of the palace basking in all it's glory)
Several bus routes within 300yds.
Car parking < 1/2 mile away (Regent Rd, Stanley warehouse etc).
'Project Jennifer' (Urban regeneration) 600 yards away.
Close proximity to city centre (1 mile approx)
Waterfront view
No need or any permissions/ leasehold from peel holdings.

Beezer of a site! Nowhere else should be considered (If we MUST move, that is) ;)

Where is this mate? I've seen it mentioned a few times but for the life of me can't fathom out where it would be?

The rule of "stadia-onimics" as you put it is to build a stadium which can be filled each week (load) and maximises revenues per seat (yield).

At a build cost of £6000 per seat there is no point in over extending capacity if it can only be filled by reducing prices to the extent that the yield generates a negative cash return.

Spurs 'master plan' to overtake Arsenal financially involves them building a bigger (62,000) stadium than their competitors and with a better atmosphere.

Liverpool's plan is to get to 59,000 and to then look again at the costs for further expansion (given that their redevelopment costs are higher than a new build):

Without a 60,000 + stadium we are at the risk of being left behind long term.

Not the short term building and initial payback phase. I'm talking a decade from now.

Moshiri should not fall into the one step forward, two steps back mentality.

Lets take three steps forward.

We only build a stadium once or twice in a few generations!

@davek

I imagine the reason that WHP was preferred over the playing fields is because there is talk of 'enablers' on the WHP site; social housing and some shops. This may still appeal to Moshiri. But there is already some significant opposition to building on this parkland, the level of opposition that I don't think we would see with the playing fields. The issue with the playing fields is that there would be no such room for an enabler, it would be a stadium only.

William Collins playing fields for me. It's yards away from one of only 5 train stations that are linked to the national, Ormskirk, Kirkby, Northern and Wirral lines. The whole area is destitute..... If we build in WHP, I'll fume at the lack of foresight. Much as I'm laughing at the RS now for building in a ghetto :p

IF we don't re-develop and that is my preferred option I could live with a new build on the WCP...so long as it was done well
But I have a nagging doubt that if we build a 50k+ stadium we will have it 2/3rds most times.
Unless they bunk up the prices to the 77quid or similar attempted by the rs, it won't make any real difference in the grand scheme of things.

Re do Goodison one side at a time...gate money is not important now, time does not matter to much

Esk has spelt it out for you, but you still seem to be struggling with the basic business premise.

Why build a stadium that's probably at least 10k beyond the realistic short term demand and thus sink £6k per seat into 10k seats that you're not going to sell at a rate that will provide a sensible return on the capital invested?

You've quoted the RS and ignored the logic within their choice to expand capacity in a piecemeal manner. Build it, prove you can fill it at prices per seat that justify the capital cost, and then look to invest further to add further capacity. If the initial expansion doesn't sell out at top rates every other week, then you leave it as it stands until such time that you consider further expansion necessary.

He has just watched the motion film " Field of Dreams "

Build it, and they will come.
