New Everton Stadium

About this new stadium. I keep hearing the number 55,000...... What do you think is the right capacity for a new stadium?

Has to be 60000.

West Ham are moving into a 60000 stadium & have sold 52000 season tickets.

In no way are West Ham bigger than us or have more support. London isn't a factor either because there's arguably more competition for leisure pounds down there.

New stadiums ALWAYS attract increased support. Man City added 17000 fans to their average gate.

We are a big club that regularly got 50000+ up to the 1980s, until capacity was reduced. Our problem is very old fashioned facilities and thousands of obstructed view seats. This would change in a new stadium. We need to keep pace with the likes of West Ham & Spurs.

Is it just me that reckons stuff has been grinding away in the background for ages before he actually bought the club?

It kind of stacks up.

Explains the drawn out non WHP saga.

Explains why it seems to of all happened rather quickly If anything actually has mind!

Almost like he said to Bill, "Look, I need to be sure I can get the ground I want, so let me work on that on the quiet, and then we can see whats what"

Or I should start writing short stories.

Possibly mate.

He did say he was talking to Moshiri 18 months prior to him taking 49.9% of the Club.

50-55k.

But it needs to be a Stadium that can increase capacity easily.

If the Chinese can build that from nothing in the South China Sea, we can reclaim land from the Mersey when we need to shift up to 100,000 seats.

This was my thinking, so when I kept hearing 55,000. I was wondering that surely it's 60,000 we should be aiming for. Glad at least someone feels the same.

Kenwrights words to the fans and Andersons too.....this thing might be in suprisingly advanced stage

It would surprise me massively if nothing has leaked considering the amount of companies that would have been engaged if it was even nearly as advanced as it would have to be for anything to be done in as short as 3 years time.

Sounds spot on to be fair.

According to Private Eye, it was a similar sketch to kenwright selling to that fella in the one bedroom flat in Salford.

Wirral borough council still think the development on their side of the river's still on.

As bolly'd say: "Watch this space"

There's been a tremendous amount of work done with Chinese investors and they are actively investing in many parts of the City. Work is still continuing and there is still a lot of interest in the Wirral and Liverpool Waters.

Oh it would surprise me as well.

But it does fit the picture of the secrecy behind the purchase.

Peel Holdings via it's rebranded hotels division (Tower Management) own and operate 2 hotels at JLA.
I wonder if a ground would be seen as a catalyst to develop a third hotel and conference centre for themselves.
Musing and probably an attack of cockwaffle, but harmless.
