Yep it was, but with Joe Anderson mentioning the commonwealth games it kind infers that what we build would also include an athletics track.

i just hope he doesn't make this an issue...i don't mind a commonwealth games but do it in an athletics stadium not at the new ground thsts all

That would be brainless.

Now if LCC are so sure they will get the nod, then they can pay for the design to allow a track to be dropped in for 2 weeks in 8 or 10 years time.

Nope. Filling the ground with tourists every week goes against everything that makes Everton what it is.

You can be successful without losing that. At least I hope you can.

This was the girl from Thailand who paid £500 to get tickets in the Everton end at the Leicester game, who was sitting next to me.

That camera was in my face for the whole game. The entire day was an embarrassment for a number of reasons, but it had me thinking, what is worse, Non-League or the Big Time?

Getting well ahead of ourselves now, but there must solutions to a multipurpose/athletics stadium. The pitch could be lowered and additional seats put in surely?

Remember WHU got the Olympic stadium but have to retain the athletics track

Thing is though, there was no agreement in place for West Ham, or any football club, to take it on afterwards. In fact, I'm pretty sure Coe or one if his cronies said it would never become a football stadium.

If a commonwealth stadium was to be built with the express purpose of it being our ground afterwards, then it can be built from the ground up with more specific retractable seating than that used at the Olympic Stadium, where they've rather had to work around the existing infrastructure.
