New Everton Stadium

Just for fun, the Westfallenstadion, fits nicely into the SC site, this is a ground hat would be too big for us so it proves there is space, it's a very tight squeeze on the docks if it all... However a smaller 55k/60k version of it would probably fit.

Don't like the 4 stands stadium concepts as i think its tired and dated, also not seen a genuine world class stadium with the traditional 4 stands but that's my opinion as loads on here will agree or disagree

if the bowl shape i.e corners filed in is done properly why are spectators further from the pitch as some have mentioned ?

most world class stadiums conform to a variation of that shape as its the most efficient use of space capacity wise for a stadium. Especially if you have a limited foot print
For me I'd like a stadium like Dortmund's, stands that are joined together rather than a bowl shape
Westfalenstadion

Replying to myself here, but this is the old Munster at Trafalgar about 1981 (it was replaced by a bigger and much nicer Leinster around 1983). We had some pretty rough sailings on this little lady but the bar always stayed open until about 1.30 a.m. and we would then get a few hours kip before arriving at Trafalgar around 7.30 a.m.

Slightly off topic maybe but I thought you might like to see Trafalgar dock when it was in use.

Is the building with the chimneys still there or is the whole area flattened and ready for development?

The old B+Is were pretty rough looking! Yeah, site is flattened, you can see it on google maps.

Sailed on the Leister a few times in the 80s, usually drinking in the Sandon Lion beforehand. That pub was run by Peter O'Hanlon, a massive Evertonian. Building still stands. I would love our ground to be the kick-start that the area so badly needs.

That is a class 4 stand stadium.

4 stands with corners filled in, not a shaped bowl. Dortmunds stadium: It has a league capacity of 81,359 (standing and seated) and an international capacity of 65,829 (seated only). Cologne's stadium (top) holds 50k, 8k standing.

It can be done fine.

The Allianz proves a bowl can be okay, but you don't get the same feel as a four-standed stadium. I like where I sit in the upper bullens because you feel on top of the pitch.

i see what you're saying Doesn't the corners filled in constitute a bowl shape or a variation on that ?

Thing is most of the traditional four stand designs grew organically and tend not to be new builds and Dortmunds stadium us an example of that.

All i am saying is that the bowl/corners filled is the most efficient use if a foot print and generally gives you more bang for your buck.

Anyway with the money we have now im sure it will be something we will all be proud off

well most anyway :D i just hope there is a really cool home end

Looks very awkward for access and parking, no trains nearby either, does not work for me in any way.

I would imagine a stadium shaped as a bowl is what constitutes a bowl mate!

In all seriousness, four stands connected as such is the way forward. Capacity isn't an issue and the fans get to feel on top of the pitch still.

Is it not possible to build a bowl-shaped arena, but still has the overhanging upper tier?

Splitting hairs. The difference between that and a bowl is negligible. The hermits out there could probably calculate the difference to a few degrees. I don't think it makes much difference, but I do know that the Emirates is far superior to the New Den, and that most of the better stadiums in this day and age have a bowl-like design.
