New Everton Stadium

I think it's quite noticably different to a bowl stadium tbh, maybe it's more noticable when it's empty. If you look at the Westfalenstadion compared to a bowl arena like the Emirates it's completely different - much steeper and the upper levels feel closer to the pitch.

I'm not sure the difference between the 2 is all that big. The stands behind the goals on both are dead straight. The stands on either side on both are dead straight. The difference is the corners on Dortmund's stadium are 90-degree corners where the Emirates the corners are a bit curved

After a while you get fed up with some ex Everton pros. They're so negative. Least the kopites ninths media, senseless as they are, back the club to the hilt. Half of our former players seem to just want to not rock the boat and keep us mediocre. Hopefully Moshiri iaignoringvthe noise and is doing what is best for Everton.

I'll never get fed up with what Rat's has to say, our most successful captain ever.

You youngsters need to show some respect, he has said nothing wrong.

Steep sides.

Close to the pitch.

Four stands.

Anything else can gtf.

This all day long. I think sometimes our class of '85 can appear negative to younger fans, when in fact they simply have high standards - standards that a lot of us seems to have forgotten we should adhere to and aim for. It's good to want to win stuff.

For example, I agree with big Nev when he thinks we should aim for #1 EVERY SINGLE YEAR! Anything less is substandard. People say he's nuts - I think he's spot on.

Why aim for 4th when you can aim for 1st?

We should get a ferry terminal there as well.

I just can't wait to sing "Sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the shoite lose today"

OI! Swear filter avoidance and that, but otherwise a good song aye. Interesting about a ferry terminal though.

@Moomin

I'd rather our former players express their actual opinions (and Ratcliffe's opinion here is one shared by a hell of lot of fans) and speak their minds rather than tow a fake party line a la LFC.

Who blames him for viewing this with a pinch of salt after so many false starts? Don't forget, he was a boyhood blue like the rest of us - I doubt he is being negative for the sake of it, merely realistic.

Even my first thought when the ground was announced last week was also "yeah, right" - and I actually have faith in this Moshiri bloke.

Also, lads, don't forget, Peel have shown zero interest in this up to this point. And I'd prefer the dock site.

If Peel won't sell the land, then what can we do?

That's a 80k stadium mate, not a 50-60k, imagine it being smaller.

Being picky but it's only 81,359 due to the safe-standing areas, when it is all seated it has a capacity of 65,829.

Without seeing a big reduction in pricing I don't see us filling that currently but in time with the right marketing and results on the pitch we could. So unless Moshiri is planning on us having £20 tickets as standard the stadium should be designed in a way that makes it "easy" to upgrade in the future.

Which means we should be looking at the footprint of a large capacity stadium even if we don't use it all right now.

Maybe that is the plan, £20 tickets!!

As most are aware, revenue from ticket sales whilst good is not a huge factor in the financing of a club, and of course 40000 seats at £40 or 60000 at £20 or £30 is not much difference in the big scheme of things.

That's right with Big Nev: Aim for number 1 every time

Ratcliffe: we'll never get there.

See the difference, both men deserve the highest respect for what they've done in their careers.

But Ratcliffe is consistently negative in all articles, even when he was commentating on channel 5.
