New Everton Stadium

Most Londoners would be surprised to discover that Stratford isn't in London...given that it very definitely is. London postcode. London borough. London. I live in North London. My wife comes from Walthamstow originally. Stratford isn't some far flung wilderness. It was the largest, most central development zone available, well connected to the City and as such a blindingly obvious choice for The Olympics.

In the case of Liverpool both the Northern Docks and Stonebridge Cross are development zones. The former would have the biggest economic impact if Peel can be convinced. The latter would solve a bigger problem for the city as it is a less attractive to developers/harder to shift.

It is obvious why LCC should be keener on SC for us. It is equally obvious why we should prefer the Docks. Money gets what money wants and it seems we finally have money.
And anyone outside London would say Stratford isn't in London. To outsiders, zone 1 is London.

My point was merely that SBC is the sort of outer-city space that Olympic/Commonwealth sites get built on.

They may aswell of not bothered winning the league then really now they have all these "problems"

Should of just finished 8th as that is the best position to finish now if you are "building something" as our neighbours are now telling us, all part of Klopps plan
I am not saying they should not have tried to win the league and it will generate loads of money for them, it will raise their profile and give them an opportunity to get away from being perennial relegation candidates.

But, honestly, do you see them being in the top four next season never mind being champions ? , I don't.
It reminds me of when we finished fourth a few years ago, it was brilliant, but as a club we were not ready to stay at that level at that time.

Clubs like Man City were able to bridge the gap from also ran to top four team in a short span by spending potloads of money and to a large degree they wasted a lot of it, as they were forced to buy over the odds for players that really did not want to go to a club with no CL history.

Do you believe top players will flock to Leicester, I don't. I don't think Lukaku or Stones would consider Leicester champions or not.
I think it is hard to become a big club overnight, I would happily swap places with Leicester , we all would , but that doesn't mean they don't face huge challenges.
They will face challenges to hang onto their best players, how often do you hear that said of champions.

If the docks is a runner there is no doubt in my mind that the new regime will pursue it as long as it is viable. The only issue I can see is if Peel have a greater gain to be made by holding onto the sight for commercial development in the long term. This is where the crux of the matter lies. SC could be a runner almost immediately from the sounds of it and as a few posters have mentioned would solve a problem for LCC. But screw LCC, they have been a thorn in the clubs side it seems on this issue and Anderson mouthing off helps no side in the matter. The docks will create increased commercial revenue for the club through non matchday activities and the tourism sector. As I said unless Peel price it out of the equation, I think this is where the eyes of Moshiri will be set.

Here's hoping.....

To outsiders Wimbledon, Twickenham, West Ham, Wembley etc etc are all in London...

I don't have a issue with SC if it done properly

There are no stadiums in Zone 1 of London and Zones is used for pricing the tube not as a boundary.

EVERY Stadium in London is outside zone 1 so London has no Stadium ????

Not sure about financing but hopefully its state of the art and whatever that makes everyone else jealous.

Just make sure its near to an international airport and lots of hotels for me to stay in.

Surely its a win win for Peel. They own a lot of the land round there. If Everton slap a belter stadium and all kinds of other things that bring money to the area, wealth, that means surrounding areas will also increase in value, areas that Peel own.
