Don't replicate Frankfurt's stadium.
I'm not a structural engineer, but that is seriously not good

Don't replicate Frankfurt's stadium.
I can't imagine Goodison staying at all should we get a new ground. Look at what happened to Highbury...
Very much doubt it. That is one thing I can never forgive this board for, they allowed the stadium to fall to wrack and ruin.
Instead of being talked about as one of the great institutes of the game, it is known as a tin pot stadium not fit for purpose.
Looks better there than it does now.
Could well be just the appropriate flexibility to deal with earthquakes and be built into the structure like.I'm not a structural engineer, but that is seriously not good
Completely agree with this. While everyone else moved on, we went from having the finest club ground in England to what people now call 'the old lady'.........bleeding disgrace tbh.....
If it was the Frankfurt near Christchurch you might have a point, otherwise...Could well be just the appropriate flexibility to deal with earthquakes and be built into the structure like.
Interesting post.My two pence worth.
I have had misgivings about Liverpool waters for a while. We are talking skyscrapers and I presume it would be a mix of offices and flats. Despite getting planning permission ages ago, nothing has come to pass.
The project would cost millions, perhaps billions. I am not sure there is the demand for offices and flats in effectively the Vauxhall area.
There are already modern offices in the heart of the business district, sat empty. 4 St Pauls Square, just of Old Hall Street was largely empty when I started working in the city 3 years ago. It still is. Some of the older offices are absolutely empty. You need business to occupy new offices and at the moment I don't think the numbers are there to justify the scale of the development Peel are talking about.
With regards to the location, Clarence Graving Dock, it is out of town. If you are a business you won't get the benefits of being a city centre location, eg train stations.
With regards to flats, I'm not sure the demand is there with regards to location or numbers.
As such, I think Peel should look to do a deal with Everton. It could be a catalyst for growth.
Interesting post.
Surely a stadium would be a much more compatable use for the operational dock than offices or residential though?
The stadium will only be used 20 to 25 times a year, and mostly on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. There will be minimal disruption. Office and residential towers, while not attracting 50,000 people at any time, wouldn't want trucks queueing alongside their front doors, and the buildings would be constantly in use.
Anyway. This is my first post on GOT. Hello all.
Springsteen and Coldplay are on the etihad soon aswellSurely not, most modern stadiums are used thought the week, even crap ones like the Reebok at Bolton have conferences all through the week, weddings and christenings on non match day weekends. There is a massive Stone Roses gig being held at the etihad this summer. Hopefully we will get a stadium with a retractable roof and pitch and there will regularly be huge events there which will make millions for the club
Yeah it would be good for the area, not suggesting it wouldn't. I was only pointing out that arsenal didn't keep the stadium up as a momentum like people suggested we shouldWould be a good idea for GP in L4, could revitalise the area.
some of the structure was maintained
...the developers did a good job there (imo)Yeah but it's not a football ground is it. Others had mentioned that Goodison should be Kept up as a museum or momentum but arsenal made Highbury into flats.
Yes definitely....the developers did a good job there (imo)
