New Everton Stadium

You haven't got a clue. You think people are seriously suggesting we just replicate the aesthetic of Goodison within a new stadium? Jesus Christ. Do you know the meaning of the phrase 'design cues'?

You're probably unaware of the subtleties of the archie leith criss cross designs that have been incorporated in to recent kits in subtle, modern ways. That's what we're talking about, not an old wooden replication with faded blue paint FFS!
Go easy, eh? If he doesn't want it, then that's his opinion. Nothing to suggest any of the other new stadiums have taken any legacy elements from their former stadium, so I don't see why it's so mandatory for us to do so. Like I said earlier, it's a pretty basic feature that wouldn't be too hard to incorporate, but I don't see it as a key feature.

Went to watch Springsteen at the Etihad last night & sat there dreaming of big concerts in our new stadium on the Mersey we will become a world wide brand not just for football. The benefits for the City will be enormous 40000 people in close season in the city centre . No one will care about the traffic with that amount of money being generated . Going the match will be taken to another level

....so the concert wasn't much then.

A gigantic blue liver bird facing the Mersey with E.F.C above it and when we play at night the blue liver bird's eyes light up with a high powered royal blue laser and starts blinding bagheads in Wallasey.

And has a high powered jet of stinking effluent emanating from it's rear directing crap at the pit.......Like it.....

Like i said no-one i know gives a toss about a blue cross on a bog tile wall, i dont know any kids who know what these AL touches will be .............this is a new era we want a new modern stadium........a whole new Everton infact!

get your head out the past it counts for zilch.

Weird isn't it. The first thing I showed my kids were all the historic features that makes Goodison a special place.

By them learning its history the place becomes more special for them. Continuity and a nod to the past would be important features of any new stadium in my eyes.

I agree, we have such a rich history that it should (must) always be celebrated. That doesn't mean it's incompatible with looking forward and we can have the best of both if we handle any move correctly.

I know that one of the big gripes Sunderland fans have is that the SOL barely acknowledges Roker or their previous history at all. Arsenal at least took a clock and their silence with them.

100% agree, even if it's a minor feature we have to take a part of Goodison with us.

Wouldn't a good museum suffice? Would rather have genuine artefacts in a museum than facsimiles built into the new stadium.
