New Everton Stadium

Been for a bike ride out on the Wirral this morning. Boss feeling seeing the stadium emerge as the ferry swings out.

Apologies for poor picture quality - only had my phone on me and it's not the best...

I believe the bar codes are looking to expand SJP. I saw on U Tube (though didn't watch the video) some one saying 75000. Regardless, it's telling that
our new stadium will be one of the smallest of the bigger clubs.
If the video was from “Tyneside life” you can safely ignore it.

They can (possibly) extend one side.

The other, smallest side will never be able to extend due to grade one listed buildings behind it.

There is no way they can extend one stand and increase capacity by 23k.

They can't, the two smaller stands are over a metro and listed buildings.

Then again blood vile money from Saudis will probably sort that.

They can probably extend the Gallowgate by 7 or 8 thousand but the other side overlooking Leazes Terrace can’t go higher.

There was talk of doing a Tottingham and rotating 90 degrees as there is currently a club owned multi story car park and a park behind the Leazes End. Would cost a fortune but I guess money is no object.

That would be bizarre given that even the brick facade doesn't have a criss cross design to it.

That appears to have been completely abandoned.

I'm not complaining like. It was an idiot backward looking idea to have the Leitch pattern on this 21st century stadium.
It hasnt been abandoned. You can definitely see it on some close ups. It must be to do with camera resolution or something, but the brick work has the criss cross patterns. This has been metioned quite a few times.

Don't think it's to do with camera resolution.
Having visited it myself I have to say that it is barely perceptible. Personally I think that was the right way to go. It's only meant as a 'nod' to our history and I think it would have looked out of place if it was seen in stark contrast.

So the new stadium is expected to be finished end next year and may be opened during 24/25 season.
I think we should wait till start of 25/6 season as it may give us a chance of opening with Premiership footie instead of Championship footie

Are you serious? Boxes are irrelevant now as other posts have also said. Arsenal ripped apart most of theirs to do what we're doing but we've got the space and planning to do it properly.

Where are you getting larger lounge spaces from? Have you seen the layout? We have more space than spurs.

Also not sure what you mean by box seats, if you mean "executive" we have over 5k.

Can you kindly elaborate what you're arguing for here? Pretty sure you want to stay at goodison which will completely nullify yet again your contradictory argument.

You seem to get more ridiculous every time you're questioned.

I suggest you go and read up on the subject a bit more and look at some cross sectional drawings. Yes, there has been a slight trend away from traditional boxes, but not the wholesale abolition as you say. They are still the top of the corporate heirachy and income generators. Arsenal still have 129 boxes. They used to have 150. Some have been opened up to increase lounge spaces or convert to other types of seating and also to control prices by reducing supply, but they still have over 2000 box seats.... and 8000 corporate seats in their own elevated dedicated tier with very high c-value and viewing aspect ratings. These have several supporting lounge levels on all four sides. Their matchday income is over 6 times ours at present.

Spurs had 120 boxes of varying sizes at the old ground and now have 80 higher value large boxes.... and suites and a whole dedicated corporate tier, again supported by continuous lounges on several levels on 3 sides. BMD has a great offer on the sides in this respect, but to say that we'll have bigger or more than anywhere else in the UK is a ridiculous exaggeration.

Please, stop assuming you can speak for me. I voted for Kings dock, was involved with KEIOC when we spoke to the city planners, Peel (about the docks) and Bestway (about the loop). So, I've never been a bit averse to the idea of moving at all.

What if we’re in the Premier League in 24/25 and then get relegated though?
