No deciduous but a rampant, high & wide grower plus the wind would filter through the branches giving you a great wind break you do not want a solid hedge as the wind hits it & doubles its speed by 50% as it comes over the barrier of any hedge if it filters through it drops the speed down - hence that why Garden fences regularly get blown out ....

Certainly planted on the coastal side of the furthest position away from the Stadia, 20-30ft in height .... 12 feet in width ;)

It will have to be some wind break sat on the River Mersey banks Eggs - Poplar robustus I think - thats what we used for a good wind break in my first nursery I worked in ... lol
Do these look like Poplars @Joey66 ?

I think it looks a bit funny at the moment because of the state of the site, had it been all brick it wouldn't have looked as good as it will. It should be quite smart when finished.
Yeah I went and looked at the renders as I hadn't noticed it before and it actually looks OK.. just atm it looks odd.
Some of the images show it as light coming through internally, is this different?
