New Everton Stadium

Can you even be an Everton fan if you don't hold some level of suspicion that they might have ballsed this up?
Always had my doubts. Think Dan Meis may have based the size of the pitch on American NFL standards rather than actual 'soccer' sized pitches. If so, we'll probably have to reduce our current proposed 52k+ capacity to something more akin to GP. Ah, well....🫣

we’re have the priority’s so wrong

No Matty, to get a better team then we need a bigger income. For years we've seen other clubs make huge jumps and that makes it harder for us to compete. If we left it any longer we would be in an even worse position.

There isn't a perfect time to build a stadium as it is always going to have a knock on effect unless you are right at the top and even Arsenal found it hard to cling on to the top 4.

I think the harsh realisation is upon all of us now Matty, if anyone cant see it then there is no hope.

not mentioning any names @ForeverBlue92 ;)

Unless we're owned by a gulf state who can get around FFP then we're not competing long term.

Footballs a mess now, throw in the Saudi's buying up everything, clubs owners owning other clubs to farm players etc. the stadium IS all we have to look forward to unfortunately.

Sign a mid table striker
Dont sign a mid table striker

Makes no odds we aint winning anything or playing CL football anytime soon.

I think the stadium will look absolutely fantastic and enhance the waterfront when finished..............................but I cannot summon up any enthusiasm for it given the state of the club and the team.

New stadium bulilds acversely affected Arsenal , Spurs , Southampton and Sunderland's ability to invest in the team.

It is even worse at Everton with a dysfunctional board and owner who appears desperate to sell.

But yeah the stadium will be lovely.

Yeah I went and looked at the renders as I hadn't noticed it before and it actually looks OK.. just atm it looks odd.
Some of the images show it as light coming through internally, is this different?

That image is showing an early version of the stadium and it looks a fair bit different now. There will be an ambient glow from the cut outs, I'm not sure if that is light coming from the inside of the stand or just back-lit within the panels themselves.

What are the constant changes we’re asking for? Genuine question, I have no idea.
Up to now, it’s mostly changes that’ll take part in the fitting out process, such as design of the changing rooms, concourses and whatnot.

But, Laing have a tight schedule and they need to keep doing redesigns, costings and whatnot; this has meant that some delays are becoming expected.
You don’t seriously think they won’t be involved before handover! There’s loads of things you can do before handover. The last month or so will just be snagging so it’ll allow access and I’m sure all that’s built into the plan. I agree with you that if it’s not ready it’s not ready but from Spurs you can see how fast it can happen for a mid season move. It’s been successfully done and has set a precedent with a larger stadium. Whether Everton can do it is another question. 🤣
Believe me or not, it doesn’t bother me either way mate. I’m simply going off what I’ve been told from people involved in ensuring we get this new stadium.

I hope they’re wrong as sooner the better, but I have no reason to doubt them. And these aren’t people are labourers on the site etc, who are giving the time frame.

Variations to the original quoted job (supposedly at a fixed price) usually hammer the client cost wise.

Surely this isn't where the extra 250m has come from? :drunk:
