New Everton Stadium

I don't mind the lower capacity. Lets see if the extra capacity over Goodison is filled out regularly, and if it is then it becomes obvious for the then owners to extend (hoping/praying Mosh has been shown the door by then). The worst thing would for it to become another Delle Alpi thats soulless and half empty which would be possible if the worst happens this season. As is, I'm just hoping that whoever owns the club by the time its finished (and presuming we're still in the PL) doesn't do a Spurs on it and increase the prices so they're completely unreasonable to try and earn back more quickly what has been spent on the build. Ultimately whats delivered on the pitch will determine demand, so there's an obvious benefit to the then owners to continue investment in the squad.

Of course, in the current real world we're still owned by Moshiri, and if that continues for much longer, then 50k capacity might seem extravagant by the time we get to move in.

There will not be a spare seat…..

Maybe for the first season when it’s brand new, but there’s pretty much always seats at GP with 40k capacity.
I very much doubt seats wont be available for the same games that currently don’t sell out when there’s an extra 12k /13k available.

For me it depends on the price. I know that prices will go up and they ought to because to be honest, the prices are low compared to most of the rest of the PL.

That said it depends on your point of view, I think that if Goodison was 50k now we'd sell out and that's at the old Old Lady. Moving to a brand new stadium on the waterfront will be a big pull. And there has been a trend with new stadiums 'new stadium bounce' to have bigger attendances.

There's a quote "build it and they will come". I don't think it was Robert Elstone who said it though lol

there isnt though, as one who regularly looks for the resales, there are hardly ever any left empty unless the away fans don't take full allocation.

There’s a bit of a utopian view I think, that we could hike prices and still fill a 62k stadium. I suspect supply and demand would probably set the ticket price for a 62k stadium a fair bit lower than a 52k one, so then you are into return on investment for the extra build.
It’s been widely reported that the extra 10k seats would cost disproportionately more to build that the 52k we are getting.
I would like a 62k stadium, but not if you have to give tickets away (or heavily discounted) like WHU have been known to do - and they don’t have to service a construction debt.
I think ultimately the revenue gap between what we’re getting and what we would like, won’t be as big as 10k seats suggests at first glance.
I also think ticket prices will rise significantly at BMD, I expect decent concessions for certain groups and a limited number of ‘spares’ for most game still, for whoever is prepared to pay for them…..
