New Everton Stadium

I’ve been to goodison regularly since 1970 and witnessed all the development. The main stand was transformative, the first 3 tier stand with elevators however it retained the characteristics of the obstructive views and seriously lacked any form of hospitality part from the chosen few. The street end massive development to have a roof 🤷🏻‍♂️ The park end bricked up to allow advertising and eventually knocked down to be replaced by the best stand in the ground which is ironic when you’re stood for ages waiting to get served or stuck in the back row waiting to get out. Not even commenting on the lower bullens [Poor language removed] hole that it is.
Never sat upper bullens but I suspect you can’t get a drink at halftime.
Nostalgia maybe but seriously goodison park is crap for many Evertonians.
Get down to bramley Moore , woo 🙏
Asap 🙏
Get everything you have said but still have memories with friends and family i agree we have to move for the future and the best of the club. Also for us fans to get a first class stadium to call home, but whatever goodison is right now i wont change my mind on what i fee about it. I am happy to move but will be sad to leave

The Main Stand is a disgrace. How it was ever given the green light God knows. Only the Top Balcony worth having.

…hated that top balcony on the occasions I’ve been there (although we did win an end of season Derby 1-0 when i sat there in the mid-80s).

Read @alan ball excellent ‘Goodison Memories’ book whilst on holiday last week and there was a large number of opposition players he interviewed who commented on how imposing that stand is. ‘When you look at it from the pitch, it just goes up and up’.

i much preferred the old main stand.

I have just watched the latest video on the club website and I really don't like the black panels seen up close. I had been hoping that maybe they would be covered with some lightweight perforated screens to tone down the contrast with brick sections., but there is no mention of any other finish. I can see these being a magnet for graffiti unless they have some kind of barrier in front of them.

They haven’t got their final coverings yet. Planning docs suggest they will be finished by perforated panels.

That will help equalise the appearance of the black blanking plates and the windows.

That’s 100% happening, isn’t it?

I wonder if they’ll keep it shallow enough to stop drownings, or excavate a bit deeper so people don’t break their necks when they dive in.

Just replied to someone else regarding this. Docks basically need to breathe so it's a critical part of the planning. Look at the one in front of the other 3 graces for reference

It's apparently only going to be around 1m deep. Enough water to maintain flow between the docks but not too much that it poses a significant safety hazard.
