New Everton Stadium

I know it's bad form to bump your own posts, but here goes. I have had a look at GP on Google Maps and measured the pitch with a plastic ruler (can't get more accurate than that). Even taking into account how the Goodison Road tapers in, there is enough space to turn the pitch around by 90 degrees and have goal mouths on the Goodison Road and Bullens. It would be a cheaper alternative to what has been suggested and personally, I'd prefer it.

You're right in what you say with the PE being the most economical to stay, but if we do that surely we have to keep the Bullens. That is something worthwhile preserving and a fitting legacy to Goodison. Of course it would need modifying to remove nearly all the rows in the lower section (just keep 3 to 5 so there are some seats still in the section). That would then create space to have a larger concourse and hold up the upper tier to remove any restricted views in that section.

I guess that would give a capacity around a 6 to 7k for the ladies and youth teams. Let other developers build on the ground of the demolished stands and hopefully that means we haven't had to put a load of money in.

In an ideal world I'd keep the Bullens and Gwladys put them back to the way they were before all the Kenwright nonsense Christmas wrapping and demolish the rest. Never going to happen but that would be the best thing.

Cool, cause I was wondering what they'd do about the Sodexho contract. I assume that if they're looking to make more money on food and beverage, they're not carrying their contact over to BMD and are bringing it in house. Currently Sodexho make everything over a certain guaranteed income for Everton, so good to hear they're maximising potential incomes.

They have the contract for a while like. It covers them going into BMD.

They’re not going anywhere just yet, sadly

Bullens road and Gwaldys street structures should be made listed buildings. To lose them is another loss added to the growing list of stuctures in Liverpool already smashed to bits and now mourned. Highbury is a shining example of what to do.

Highbury was completely different- it was built in an Art Deco style - which lent utself to redevelopment - there are zero redeeming features in the Bullens or Gwladys St End from the kerbside.

Personally if it was financially feasible it would be great to retain Goodison as a scaled down stadium for the Womens & u21/23 teams.
I'd knock all the stands down and perhaps have simpler stands like Man City's Academy Stadium.
Clearly our current finances mean it's unlikely but I'm not sure it's a particularly valuable site once you factor in demolition costs.

I was talking about highbury yesterday. I think its a bit different as that real estate around North London is very expensive. People prepared to pay 1million for a shoe box flat in the clock end. I dont think thia would work with goodison. Needs a different approach if there is a way to preserve the history.
TBH the seats i had on Sunday in the mainstand were absolutely crap - worse that what i nornall get atvthe back of the lower gwladys. I wanted to demolish the whole place there and then when i arrived.

Good point you make at the end there. Even without even seeing the inside of the new place properly, the drone footage and the likes of this thread have whetted the appetite for the new stadium so much, I've already started to see Goodison even more in its true light. I'm sorry but it's a dump, all of it. A much loved dump, but a dump, nonetheless.

The cheapest legacy option I would suggest, is to do what I said with the Park End.

My point was the test games, doubt they'll use first team for them
👍 my point also was after the test events. As soon as it's handed over it's for the men's 1st team and should be used ASAP.

No disrespect to the women's and U21's but imagine you're a 1st team player, you're still using a falling down GP and the women are lording it up at Bramley Moore 😆
