It's walking distance from my house which is a criteria that hopefully features heavily in Everton's thinking.

Chief Executive Robert Elstone revealed the Blues have been in "constant dialogue" with Liverpool City Council over a new stadium.

Mr Elstone said: "One piece of land has been thoroughly investigated by the Club."

And chairman Bill Kenwright added: "We've had strenuous meetings with a very supportive (Mayor) Joe Anderson and the council. Last time we spoke, I think there were six or seven sites - now there are two or three, and there's one that I would love. But again, it's down to the funding package.

That is almost word for word the same message one year on.

They are taking the piss and laughing about it.

Okay it's Cardiff but this is what they've achieved in 2 months - added a whole new tier to the main stand with exec boxes. Begs the question why this can't be done to the Park End given how quickly it can done. It would pay for itself with interest by the time we actually built a new stadium
