New Everton Stadium

Either the docks or redevelop goodison for me. Even though SC would be walking distance for me I'd hate to move there. Always get a depressing feeling on the east lancs the place is an absolute dive

I think it would be an improvement to the area though if a Stadium was to open up there. Not saying I prefer it, but should it happen, others will improve too.

Well it's not quite city centre - it's a bit of a schlepp from say, Lime St Station - half an hour walk. Plus it's only accessible from 3 directions due to the natural barrier of the Mersey, as opposed to all 4 which Goodison is.
Parking in the area is not copious, and again because of the lack of routes away it would be a nightmare parking then leaving.

Not saying it's insurmountable - just that it's complicated.

Stonebridge Cross isn't any better for access, at least on the Waterfront you can hop on trains in town and get quite close. The Lancs is busy as it is without all of the extra traffic, it will be gridlock guaranteed.

Could be a reason why the council are so keen to move there. I'd imagine a large amount of housing developments would be involved aswell

So as an area you would say it needs redevelopment?

Absolutely mate, especially the housing on the croxteth side of the road.
The document linked a few pages back has the housing estate surrounding alt park as a development opportunity so the council would be open to this area being redeveloped. No disrespect to people living there but it badly needs it

Pretty irresponsible of them to have that document in the photo tbf. Got to be more careful than that.

Unless it was deliberate...

At last we have sense, do you really think at this stage of any site deal that documents that indicate decisions would be exposed in a set up stage for a picture?

Honestly, I have no idea, ive had a look and with my extensive knowledge of building world class stadia, im gonna go with YES.

But no, I had a good long look 1 night, I even compared the Goodison and Anfield footprint by using a ripped up piece of paper and googlemaps and its TIGHT, very TIGHT, the land, you know, with it being on the waterfront, is landlocked, the whole place is surrounded by big massive warehouses, theres listed buildings all over the place.

The whole area is full of little farty little streets, transport wise it would be utter mayhem, especially if there was an event on at The Echo Arena, good luck getting out of that hell.

So baring all that in mind, if we dont move to The Docks it will be for the reasons I listed above.

But I aint no buildering dude, so realistically I honestly havent got a clue.

All good info. Thankyou.

Yo
Why does everyone always go on about transport links? Goodison is probably in the least accessible area in Liverpool yet everyone still gets to the game. Where is more accessible than the city centre? SC will limit transport to people who have cars.
u won't get planning consent without it satisfying requirements
