New Everton Stadium

1
If we went to Croxteth the team would have to be amazing for anyone other than die hard fans to go. It's a massive risk. You've got more chance of ending up like Sunderland and Middlesbrough who have out of town stadiums where you have to go by car and it takes 2 hours to get out after the match so everyone leaves 15 minutes from the end to get away. Also their attendances fluctuate massively depending on how the team is doing.

If we had a destination stadium at the docks you would get decent attendances whenever, as tourists would go, and fans of other teams who were visiting Liverpool. For example I'm talking with my lad about going to Wembley to see Spurs and The Olympic Stadium to see West Ham.

Completely agree with this, but also wanted to add there is also the added risk of us being a two team city. Sunderland, Bolton, Boro can almost get away with it because they are the only team. In places like here, Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham or Bristol where there are two clubs its an even bigger risk moving out.

Of course LCC are going to heavily push SC. They invested a decent amount of money in the land to prepare it for the Amazon warehouse which then fell through. They know the only chance of investment in that land now is either a warehouse or a football stadium, so they are, understandably, pushing EFC.

That said, Joe Anderson has stated his preference is the docks.

If the docks does fall through and SC is the chosen site, I don't think it would be a complete disaster! Many stadiums are based outside the city centre; Real Madrid, City, United, Lisbon, Bayern. However, the success of the site will be more reliant on the on field success of the team. We win trophies and more people will come through the gate, if we don't we are even less attractive to 'tourists' visiting the city.

You ever seen the Isle Of Dogs in the early 80s? No-one would've suspected Canary Wharf would look like it does now. SC might not be competitive right now, but there's always the potential to be something huge.
They used the Isle of Dogs as a backdrop for the war torn city of Hue during the Tet offensive in the film "Full Metal Jacket" if anyone needs an indicator of how run down an area it was !
And look at it now , in less than 30 years.

I don't think you can compare London to anywhere else in the country to be fair. However as you mentioned it, similar to Salford, the growth at Canary Wharf was underpinned by blue chip companies. SC should make or break itself and not be compared to either SQ or CW. The followng is an example of what's currently on offer at SC (straight from the draft on Moshiri's desk)

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
Because of its great location, Stonebridge has become one of the city’s premier locations for distribution warehousing. The largest employer in the zone is Home Bargains (owned by TJ Morris) who recently expanded their existing 550,000 sq ft facility employing over 1,000 people with a new £20 million 270,000 sq ft extension at G-Park. Opened in August 2014, it created an additional 150 jobs. Home Bargains also has on site a sales training facility which acts as a regular retail store. G-Park is also home to parcel carrier DHL International, Burtons’ Biscuit Co and national car
dealership Carcraft.
The first phase of Stonebridge Business Park, completed in 2008, is now home to housing provider Liverpool Mutual Homes, social business NSC (Neighbourhood Services Company), and Eurofoods. These will soon be joined by parcel delivery firm DPD for whom St Modwen Developments will be constructing a new 70,000 square foot warehouse bringing 230 new jobs.
Nearby, Stagecoach own and operate a bus depot for the whole city, whilst to the immediate north of the business park is Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority’s £20 million state-of-the-art materials recovery facility.

It's doesn't look like it will ever be anything other than a warehousing/distribution/low retail zone regardless of whether we go there or not.

That was JA speaking personally as an Everton fan, not in his capacity as Mayor.
