New Everton Stadium

Is the line above or below ground? Below ground, you can forget it. Above ground, well I saw how long it took them to build the station at Wavertree first hand, and that's just a basic open-air station. You'd expect something bigger would be required for a stadium station.

The lines above ground at that point. It comes out and runs parallel to where old exchange station lines used to be.

It will be interesting see that if and when we get the new stadium whether or not Kenwright and Woods put any of their healthy profits from their share sales towards the ground to help take some of the burden off Moshiri and the club. It would certainly go some of the way to making up for the lack of genuine investment in the club for the last 15 years.

Build a whole new rail way line just for one stop?

More to it than that

Hmmm. That's not exactly how business works.

Good one!!

Got a strong feeling Goodison won't look like what it was planned to look like today.

None of the exterior work has been completed, mainly because LCC are dragging their feet on approving the plans. All the prep work has been done, stripping the place down of the old murals etc.

The inside concourses have been completed because that's just inside décor.

Oh I see, a new station between morefields and Sandhills?

If the area is undergoing a huge business development I was going to suggest a DLR type of line like in London along the line of the docks.
That would be a decent idea but would have to be integral to a massive redevelopment programme. I'm not sure the works planned for the docks would justify it.

Just seen what it, looks terrible but has to be done for the improvements

They absolutely would justify it. The amount of people that will be there once complete is ridiculous. Albeit a 25 years plan, they have to start sometime. Now, with our stadium there would be as good a time as any.
