New Everton Stadium

What is the problem with people with knowledge of the situation, although not directly involved, informing a forum that the stadium issue is further advanced than reported by the local media?

I'm not advocating wild speculation, of which to my knowledge there has been none, but surely one of the principal points of a forum is to share information, often ahead of official sources or media.

The specifics are too sensitive for a public forum but a general nod in terms of the amount of progress is reasonable in my opinion.

@The Esk is it likely tenders have been put out for the project or are we still away from that stage yet ?

This is what I'm talking about. By saying we're more advanced than reports say we are gives rise to further questions about exactly how advanced we are, details that the ITKs usually aren't prepared to disclose.

As far as I'm concerned its prickteasing of the highest order. If you know something, and can say it, say it. If you can't, keep it under your hat.

We all have our own opinions on it, but I personally am glad of even limited information that may be given by "ITK's". Not sure who is ITK on these forums, as I am pretty sceptical based on a lot of people claiming they have inside information, but it's good to have an idea of what is happening. It's not unreasonable to expect people with inside knowledge to not give away everything they know if they've been advised to not share too much sensitive information.

much like transfers, I'd rather stick with the tried and tested 'holding the shirt on the OS' method than hang on the word of folk with a dubious hit rate.

Well that's up to you. I am similar if I am honest, but I just take the information as it being a possibility rather than assuming it's nailed on to happen and then having an online meltdown because of Everton's apparent lack of ambition. Beats reading all the negative stuff for me anyway, even if the information doesn't turn out to be true. lol

Thinking about the size of the new stadium i hope it can be extended to around 65k. I agree with the 55K idea but we mustn't forget the club has had scores of 70k+ attendances down the years and these absolutely dwarf the RS attendances of 50k and 60k in their twilight.

I know the population was bigger then but the outskirts and wools would come if it was built i'm sure. Speaking with fellow blues the old girl does prevent/put off them from attending regularly now with the 10% obscure views etc.

When i was in Nuremberg i was speaking with a few lads who simply dont go because of seating, so the fans are there.

Only Everton fans would turn their noses up at a stadium that looks like this.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

We won't fill a 70k stadium when tickets are £40. Pricing is the problem.

Sorry mate but Lucas oil stadium would look horrid on the waterfront, state of the art buildings around it and slap in the middle a mix between a rail station and a huge warehouse, yeah embrace the past but not by doing a stadium that looks luke a 18-19th century building.

Trust me your judging that on novelty value, that'd wear off fast then your left playing in a novelty stadium design for 50 years, which as the city becomes newer will look more out of place with each passing year.
