Pedanticness? Seriously? You use that in a post to highlight the validity of a word? :) You are way off the mark in all facets of the stadium situation,

<snip misinformed babble>

Firsly, I do not work for EFC or a rail company and I am not train enthusiast. If you had read the post you would have gleend that. Secondly. I want a top class stadium serviced by the city's mass-transit rail network - the city has one, have you noticed? Now that you should easily understand.

I assume you are stay at GP luddite who thinks EFC can win the CL year after year being at the relic of ground the club occupies. This is not a sneer, but you come across as very confused and you clearly little ability to absorb prime points. Your mind also runs a bit wild. You should take that on-board and work on it. How old are you?

Cannot for the life of my understand why people are falling out over who knows more about trains and stadiums. Its a forum lids i.e. a place to voice(type) opinion.

Chill your beans!

Genuine question -anyone know why we havent nicked the kopites site - Stanley Park - after they chose to redevelop their shed?

Seems simple, if they dont want it, surely we should take it?

Old enough to have been taught spelling, sentence construction and the ability to hold a coherent discussion. How old are you? Old enough to understand the history and heritage of Goodison park but not mature enough to profer a legitimate understanding how a fundamental part of Everton FC can be used to further the club itself? You know jack and profess to know it all. Other than that, congratulations on the consistency of your sh1te.

You contradict yourself. To win everything is sight you have to conform to the club motto. That includes the club, the team the stadia, the pies, everything. Staying a low revenue venue will not create the ultimate Everton. That is pretty obvious. To stay at the GP site involves a total rebuild. What is the point? They may as well move to a cheaper to build stadium at a new site with excellent transport links and get the best, as the motto orders.

Goodison's home and part of the Everton identity and ideal. The motto serves the identity. It is the Everton identity, not the seven letters that spell Everton that we want to make the best. That does lead off on a tangent to a whole new subject of 'What is Everton' though.

You ask about a move over a total rebuild

The two strands to a move that you want then are
that it's cheaper
the transport links.

Open the Canada line you have the latter to a level required. Add in more trains from/to Kirkdale too plus sign posts

So to move grounds solely on cost is not something as a fan I can get behind. I'm not a shareholder. I am patient, I'd take it off the pitch and have a bad few seasons to get a new ultimate Main Stand. We'd win sod all in the short/medium term but we'll win sod all in the short/medium term anyway. I've said this for the last 15 years. As I said before, the cost of inactivity is never factored in to a move debate.

You have not engaged in any discussion except to disparage and insult. So you are a Luddite. How sad. BTW, my first EFC game at GP was in 72,000 crowd and attended all the world cup games. Half of the ground has been rebuilt since. I can tell you the complete history of the ground, but I will not bother as the Old Lady is past her sell by date and time to NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM. Take on board what I wrote in the last post to you. How old are you?

On topic please lads. The admin are reading all this so can we swerve the petty insults and digs at each other and get back to talking about boss new stands.

I think this thread is about what stand you would love at Goodison and not about whether we get the bus or train or walk to get to it.

Fair enough airplane man...

but please just let someone answer my sort-of-on-topic question which i really want to know the answer to....

Does anyone know why we cant have the Stanley Park site which the kopites had??? or why we havent explored it?

GP is ideal for the Championship that is for sure. GP is Everton's FOUTH home. It is not part of Everton's identity no more the home you live in is a part of yours. GP is way past its sell by date being 100% inadequate for a top club. The club realize this and are committed to moving. CLOSED. Not worth going over, as that house has been beaten to death. The club is leaving just get used to it. It is for your benefit as a fan as well. I do not want to watch Championship games in a crap, outdated, partly wooden construction ground. Fine, you do. I suggest Tranmere for you. :dodgy:

Staying at GP will propel the club downwards for sure. It has done in the past 20 odd years as all others took over in high revenue stadia. The club should not be in the business to maintain the pre and post match ale house routine of a minority of loud fans.

Walton Lane Station for you:

I think it's to do with (obviously) a shortage of funds, and the issue of a biased council. Could be way wrong.

Quite right. Disparaging comments are not welcome.

Well as the club is leaving it is rather a redundant point as no Main stand will be built, especially when two stands are partly made out of wood. Any remote possibility of rebuild would entail the wooden stands going. Thread topics move on and the access and home are very well related to the topic. Otherwise talking about a new main stand would only warrant two posts, one to suggest and one to put it to rest.
