New manager

My issue with the last few appointments is we have sacked managers with plenty of games to sort out 5/6 wins but then stuck with utter dreadful management then rinse and repeat.

We should have sacked Dyche months ago but yet again just like Rafael and Lampard, he looks to be going in January (hopefully)

If you think short-term, you end up with short comings hence the complete lack of quality management.

Our next manager has to be a modern coach who we will plan for seasons to come. It doesn't take billions and world class coaches to turn this around just stable, confident and constructive management.

Dyche goes, new manager in with funds for 2/3 players in to go into the rest of the month against:
Villa (H)
Spurs (H)
Brighton (A)
Leicester (H)

We can very much get 6/7 points to start moving up the league and away from the drop.

It's why id honestly go for Potter.

Allegri would feel amazing but just know the first sniff of a really massive club and he'd be off like Carlo was.

Potter having being burned and such by the Chelsea experience I don't think would look to jump ship and could be someone who'd be planning for the long term.

We need a complete reset of the type of manager we go for, we almost got it right actually when we went for Silva but the recruitment situation honestly killed him and the job was a move too early pressure wise in those conditions

Allegri definitely has a miles better record than Dyche that’s for sure. Just having a positive GD and W/L is a breath of fresh air.

Allegri.webp

Has to be done quickly and therefore that means someone out of work.

That gives us a shortlist of
Moyes
Allegri
Ten Hag
Turzic
Fonseca
Sarri
Southgate

They have to make an immediate impact but Pereira shows that they don't need to have PL experience.

Any appointment is a risk. I suppose that Moyes is the least risky and probably least inspiring choice.

Ten Hag ( perhaps unfairly ) is seen as a figure of fun. Ditto Southgate.Fonseca was only sacked last week so maybe it's a bit early for him.

That leaves us with
Moyes - safe but dull ,
Allegri - was stellar but his reputation has slipped. Does he still has the desire?

Both are pragmatic managers who could work with this group of players

Sarri - great football but ageing, would the players be able to play Sarriball?
Turzic - Good record at Dortmund but fell out with players

Incredibly difficult decision. My first choice was Turzic and Ragnick ( as DoF ) . Now , given our position I think it would be Allegri for me.

Do it now please Dan.

Turzic would be a disaster from everything I've heard about his time at Dortmund, was hated by the players and a few other things - deeply unlikely by supporters too and regarded as being inflexible and too defensive minded.

You left out Potter - prior to that Chelsea move I think most here would have jumped at the chance of him - for me he took over Chelsea at the wrong time for both him and the club - there's still a very very good coach in there

He is, but tbf I hope you have that when you manage top 3-4 teams in a league like Milan or Juventus for the majority of your career.

What I want to say with that, Dyche hasn't the level to be at a club above relegation level.

He's never been known for being an attacking manager. But probably it's the Juva DNA, to play defensive football
I read an interesting article about it, the basic gist of it was that unlike previous seasons they had no clear pattern of attacking play and Allegri seemed to have no idea how to resolve it.
