New manager

Turzic would be a disaster from everything I've heard about his time at Dortmund, was hated by the players and a few other things - deeply unlikely by supporters too and regarded as being inflexible and too defensive minded.

You left out Potter - prior to that Chelsea move I think most here would have jumped at the chance of him - for me he took over Chelsea at the wrong time for both him and the club - there's still a very very good coach in there

Certainly keen on having a good coach - rather than the sort of detached management Dyche us doing at the moment.

Allegri is not going to be an option currently. Of the other names, nobody stands out for me.

Rudi Garcia would be a solid pick. Experienced across Europe, though again you'd wonder how he would adapt in these circumstances.

Potter would raise the same questions. Anyone will really in our state and whether they can spend is another huge factor.

You come full circle and end up with David Moyes for right or wrong, I've thought all along that he will be the favourite.

Look at the team Potter first had at Brighton mate, he sure as hell can work with players you'd not expect to fit his system and get them to adjust to it.

In paper we have a more talented base than he had, you'd just need to add several players in key positions for him in January - I'd say three to the existing lot, we'd need two knew full backs for certain unless Potter trusted Dixon - which he very well might do. Likely a centre mid too unless garner and Tim are close to return.

Big thing about Potter for me is he's never ever been wedded to one system he constantly adjusted depending on the game and players he had.

Right now he's likely go so e variant if 3-4-3

@Delargeinho which other Spaniards do you know who are in the profile of an Iraola that might come to a team like us?

Corberan was on my list for a promising name. But cannot see that happening as he has just joined Valencia.

Jagoba Arrasate, a personal friend of mine like Iraola, Doing a great job with Mallorca having them 6th currently, after having done great work at Osasuna on a low budget for years.

Imanol Alguacil, consistent good work at Sociedad, doesn't speak English. But very good at players developing, Odegaard, Isak and Merino to name a few.

Michel: A very ambitious name, was linked with top clubs in Europe.

Claudio Gonzalez, very promising signs of getting a good manager, just been in management for 1 year, but has a side that looked almost like relegating under Rafael at Celta safe mid table.

Then the ones that are a bit older like Ernesto Valverde and Marcelino that are always valuable candidates, and proved over several stations that can do good work.

More I read up about potters systems and methods the more I like him (can also see why maybe it didn't work in part with a group like Chelsea have of superstars when he took over)

You're right I overlooked Potter.

Pre Chelsea he would have been one of the first names on the list particularly if he has the Sumner and an influx of players to integrate but think he would be disastrous in the middle of the season.

Most of all though the Chelsea experience showed that he couldn't handle the pressure and expectation of a big club. That would be a major worry for me.

However , if the worst should happen and we go down , I'd hire him for a complete rebuild and reboot in the Championship.

It will come down to him and Moyes I think. If TFG are reluctant to sack Dyche, then they'll be conservative with any appointment imo. Recent experience at Roma will weigh on them and influence their thinking.

Potter would appeal to them as someone who would potentially be here for a longer stay, and without Moyes' baggage.

I'm not sure about Potters ability to handle the demands of a situation as acute as this, but I'm not dead against him getting the job, or anything like that.

They will need to act soon, with Potter being strongly linked to West Ham and they are probably likely to be looking soon, too.

I read an interesting article about it, the basic gist of it was that unlike previous seasons they had no clear pattern of attacking play and Allegri seemed to have no idea how to resolve it.

Tbf, they haven't won the serie A since 2020 under Sarri. Also being 5th and struggling under Thiago Motta now, who for me looks like one of the most promising managers, after what he's done at Bologna. Even having a lower point's average.

It's been a squad in the upheaval after losing players that were so long and important like Chiellini, Bonucci or Buffon and had struggles and outrages on the board with Agnelli or Nedved. And Inter found back to the years under Jose and Mancini for example didn't help them either.

I say we go for Jagoba - we get a new manager and ITK in one go - what's not to like 😂

Thing about Chelsea and Potter was it was just completely the wrong fit, Chelsea's a team that's became used to hiring global superstar managers used to managing superstar egos. Mind you I do feel that to make it work he needs the players to get on board with learning the flexibility of his system etc, can see a lot at Chelsea wondering who this no mark was etc.

Everton are way more Brighton in nature than current Chelsea.

The pressure thing doesn't actually worry me so much, we have a small squad - very small and not really any big names or egos left, much as we like to try to go on about our expectations, they really aren't stupendous anymore, don't play dire footy, don't look tactically clueless, don't be a pr1ck to the supporters, don't go round bigging your own ego up, don't constantly downplay the clubs expectations.
