New proposed offside rule

WENGER'S RADICAL RULE CHANGES

Throw-ins - Teams should be able to kick the ball back into play instead of throwing it back in, if they are inside their own half.

Offside - An attacker would not be offside if any part of their body with which they are allowed to score, such as a foot, head or shoulder, is in line with the penultimate defender.

Corners - Kicks which curve out of play and then back in again should be permitted.

Free-kicks - Players should be able to touch the ball to themselves to restart play, not be forced to pass to a team-mate.
There is 1 rule i want to see changed more than anything, that is, when a player goes down, medical staff can come onto the pitch without the game stopping, this will do 2 things,
1. stop players pretending to be injured to stop play as there would be no benefit and would actually work against your team.
2. If a player is actually injured the medical attention is there quicker.

I was initially in favor of VAR but seeing it in operation, it hasn't reduced the arbitrariness in calls, it's just made the arbitrariness more easy to see and talk about. They need either a non-arbitrary (or less arbitrary) system or just scrap VAR and go back to what we had.
It’s taking away some of the excitement for players and fans when a goal is scored! Even last night when Richarlison scored I was subdued in my little moment of excitement thinking was he offside or was there some kind of infringement in the box that might be picked up by VAR.

Yep, bit like Rugby that just carries on, and use to have me thinking how does anyone avoid running into medical people etc on the pitch lol

I would like to see the clock in the ground stopped for injured players. And the only added time should be for subs 30 seconds for each.
How much football is the paying fan actually watching over 90 mins? Little farts rolling around the pitch everytime there’s contact (Richarlison) being the worst.

This is like when they shrank the pads in hockey to promote scoring. I get it - they want to attract fans - but it doesn't seem to have worked out that well for the NHL.

It doesn't solve the "lines across the screen" problem. It just moves the goalposts.

I'm not a fan.

That has been the excuse used by fifa in various contexts over the years (ifab maybe?) To not implement certain rules changes.or interpretations.

Quite frankly, if we are going with radical changes, I question the need for an offside rule at all. If I'm not mistaken, at the time the rule was implemented, teams had a row of 9 forwards almost like rugby backs, one sweeper and a goalie.

I'm not saying it is the right solution or even worth doing, but I would certainly be interested to see how that would play out with top tactician and players.
The game changes massively without offside. Go watch Field Hockey for an example of how it might look.
