Have to say that was a fantastic performance for the lads today, typical with their goal as ever with us one shot one goal at the time when it was all us,but we fully deserved that win and we could have scored an Absolute bag full today with better finishing or the keeper making a few cracking saves no matter what newcastle boss said in saying he though they deserved draw, i was very nervous the last 10 minutes as ever with everton when we are leading as i expect the worst to happen,4 points behind 6th place and game in hand with 3 home games to come in a row and suddenly it doesnt look as bad as a few weeks ago after 3wins from 4 in the league

Great, just what we need. A trip to bell central.

The only consistency this season has been our inconsistency. Any sign of momentum was wiped away with a dogturd of a performance to wipe out any remaining hopes from our season. I'm fuming, you're fuming, everyone's fuming apart from the lazy teds who will sleep comfortably in their MTV mansions.

In the cold hard light of day we know have to ensure that we're still a Premiership club next season, and that starts reet up north in St James Park (@sportsdirect.com).

Newcastle are three points ahead of us in the league. Not bad at all as the quality of the squad they brought up was expected to struggle. They done a job on us at Goodison earlier in the season and will fancy their chances to make it a double.

I've never forgiven the beauts for their brand of self absorbed zany when they put together a decent team in the mid nineties, their kopite love in and trying to look down their noses at us didn't help. Away from the fusball they're quite sound as far as English places go, and have wonderfully filthy females as an apt bonus. Celebrity fans include Ant & Dec, Tony Blair & Raoul Moat.

The team has been effective this season rather than stunning, that Tiote is a decent player who does good work in the middle and they also have their snidey grocks, like Nolan. And the arse showing Barton, who's a blue but a tit. Stephen Ireland, the little upside down headed beaut, is also in line to make his début.

The club showed their media savvy by getting knocked out of the cup so they could bury the bad news of Fellaini being out for the season. Cahill is injured so the line up could be anything, but likely to contain Saha and Beckford up front. Maybe they should carshare just in case, Beckford driving of course. With Sat Nav. Rodwell is likely to be a shoe in for Fellaini if not then prepare to groan as Heitinga runs about the midfield like the neighbourhood dog that barks loads but sh*ts it and runs away when you stamp your foot.

Only Everton can make you feel this way. Don't lie, you still love them.

I love you.

Didn't see the game, too busy recovering from the night before...

Was it a good performance overall? Can't be arsed reading whole thread. Sounds like arteta played well tho?

This Nolan business has got me wound up now, the dirty cheating w@ank3r. However lets not let it ruin a good day. Vic and Everton have had the last laugh by taking 3 points.

Exactly. I am looking forward to the highlights , had to see the fambo for the first time in months.

Me and the old man pacing up and down listening to it on City ... with Sharpy et al.

Him and Snods are the best thing on there.

Well I predicted 5 -4 and to be honest it could have well been that! Totally chuffed here, on paper that was a harder game than some people gave it credit for, and we played some decent footy from what I saw of the second half.

It's a torture being an Evertonian, they're gonna go on a decent patch now and keep the optimism up for next season, and we'll all be happy to be lead along the path!

Now that I've chewed my fingernails off - that was a great open game.

I was literally yelling at all the missed shots.

Arteta - MOTM. Awesome, orchestrating, great stuff. Yay! (minus the corners, he shouldn't be taking those yet)

Osman - industrious. You know what, I think he just hung the "for sale" sign on Bily. Sorry folks, but if Bily can't get in at this point, it looks like he should be off in the summer.

Distin - that last ditch tackle he made at the end saved us. Saved us!

Beckford - he is sniffing goal big time. Today he didn't have those wide angle shots that land in row Z. He was on target, and had some dangerous movement. He just looks like he's got it in him. I also thought Saha should have come off instead of Becks because he just looked gassed. Saha holds up better, but he was so clearly tired at this point.

Vic - meh.

All in all - THREE POINTS! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

You and me definitely see eye to eye with tets and Distin. :)

Bainsey too mate, the tackle he done on [cant remember who it was
now but it was spot on, and that cross he done was a ****in beast

come on u blue boys!

Wondering if this was the plannned/practised formation for Reading which was cocked up by Becks arriving late?
For all the plaudits Jermaine is getting on this thread, I do feel that if he gambled a bit more rather than waiting to see how a move pans out before reacting he'd gain a bit more time and space. Also he seemed to stand a couple of yards off Collocini, as he did with Terry last week rather than playing off the shoulder. Its almost as if he doesn't fancy the scrap with certain defenders.

Heitinga was a lot better than Rodwell. He at least pressurised midfielders and made a few tackles. Rodwell gives them about 15 yards but then when they make runs he leaves them. Then at other times when he's in line with the defenders he decides to charge out leaving someone wide open behind him. He did this for the goal...forcing distin to shift right and leaving baines 1v2. He did it again without 20 mins to go and din't pick up Nolan's runs at any stage. Going forward he didn't make a forward pass until the final 10 mins.

Anichebe was impressive could have had a couple of assists. I also think Beckford with his extra pace wouldda slotted one and think he should've stayed on instead of Saha. Coleman also looked dangerous and think is better both defensively and offensively than Rodwell.

Please may city bid 20m plus for him. I'm sure Moyes has asked his pal Fergie to pretend to be interested.

glad to see Arteta out wide he looked so much better there.

Ok mate. Pure windup that. Heitinga almost cost us on two occasions yet I don't recall Rodwell putting us into trouble at all, and he was in for the whole match.

Rodwell didn't have his best match today but to say he was worse than Johnny is just pure fantasy.

I've got to remember though that the post above was started by someone who thinks Rodwell (unlike other Premiership managers) won't amount to much.

Having a laugh here at the agenda.

Once again, we play with 2 forwards and we're aces. We could have easily - EASILY - had 4 or 5 goals. We simply must always play with 2 forwards. It seems to ignite the players, they play with fire and passion and a spring in their step. They like to attack, so just let 'em. That was such a fun game to watch.

Osman finally rewarded for all his excellent work, scoring a goal. Distin saved us at the end. Arteta playing on another level. Saha doing excellent work. Beckford getting after it. I sincerely hope we keep pressing the points and work our way into a Euopean spot. We can do it. Just need some consistency, which we haven't had any this year. Perhaps we would, if he'd consistently start with playing 2 forwards.
