Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

If you think Roman and Mosh obtained their vast wealth through legitimate and ethical means I’ll leave you riding your Unicorn to the end of the rainbow.

I don't. It's what I've said before. Don't hold any of them in that regard.

However...they can be hit with financial issues as an individual. PIF don't. It's an endless pit of state funds.

That's my issue. It's a whole country running a football club which I thought was the key component of not allowing it to happen.

Can see the likes of Conte rubbing his hands at this. Man who loves to spend big money and ready to step in any minute.

Doubt it mate. Maybe in a few years time when they start pushing for Europe but not now. This team needs more than 5-6 good players to come in and get them competing, they're in a relegation scrap.

If we couldn't attract him then they have no chance, no matter how much money they have.

City have Hughes, Mancini and Pellegrini before they got their hands on Guardiola. Whoever comes in next will be putting the foundations down for the likes of Conte in a few years time.

Always good to see a team who hasn't achieved anything, be able to suddenly compete.

Can't begrudge any fans who haven't seen their team win a pot, compete in europe etc.

But it's this...

It's yet another example of the Premier League not being fit for purpose.

He's the type of manager to come in once they are established in midtable after another manager stabilises them first. They could very easily go down this season, let's not overhype the situation. No big name players will be joining Newcastle in January for a survival push. They can have all the money in the world, but top players aren't going to be interested.

Man City obliterated FFP back in 2014 and were happy enough to pay a 60m Euro fine (they actually had over half returned because they sustained profit 3 years later). The next transfer window they went and spent £180m on players. The mega rich clubs have no problems getting around FFP.
City obliterated nothing and have always begrudged paying that fine. Ever since ffp was announced City have tried to work with it. We only failed it because UEFA changed the rules once we had submitted our accounts.

If it upsets the top 6 I don’t care. The game went years ago as soon as the CL football started distorting everything. You can’t have a game when City Liverpool or Chelsea are going to the likes of Newcastle and demolishing them home and away season after season. Where Newcastle have no money to spend and are managed by Steve Bruce, and the others can pick whatever players and managers in the world they want. That’s not sport. I hope us, Newcastle, Leicester, all get our acts together and start seriously disrupting the cosy party at the top. Maybe then we’d finally see an outbreak of some real competition.

You must have had your eyes closed then.

They have a mini stadium for the academy and womans team, the best training facility in the world, the best acad and development centre in the country, the best at almost every age.

Bars/ food places all over the place.

They have built a music venue, that will hold around 12k, they have a casino opening soon.

All this is worth £££ and adds to the assets the club hav

They don’t own their ground. The residential areas haven’t had any improvements which is what the media PR refer too when they go on about the massive improvements to the area.
