Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

In one fell swoop, the barcodes become the richest club in the world...and by a mile.
Give it maybe 5 or 6 years and it'll be them and Man City coming first and second...daylight will be third.
In 5 or 6 years the ESL will be realised in some form, so they'll have sailed off into the sunset will all the other money grabbing scabs.

I wouldn't be surprised if after our stadium is built, if we aren't sold again.

On Newcastle, they still have the same squad for another 13 more games, new owners or not come January they could well be in a relegation battle so with their riches if it doesn't gel right away it might be interesting what happens.

If they keep Saint Maximin Callum Wilson and Almiron fit I’ll be surprised if they get relegated. It was only because they had all three out for long periods of last season that they got into trouble. I think they had Lascelles and Dubravka out as well at a similar time.

So right and I visualise that there will be more changes to the game and millions of substitutes just like American Football.

I dont think the owners have any intention of selling us tbh.

The owners could have easily just kept us ticking along giving us £40-50 million a season to spend until the stadium was built whereas they've spent £450 million.

They are here for the long term and thankfully so imo - not many wealthier folk out there and its only the Dubai and Kuwaiti royals who haven't yet got a sports wash plaything (as of yet).

The worry is if the Qatari's get bored of winning Ligue 1 and invest into a Leeds type club as it would be basically near impossible to qualify for Europe / win a trophy with the top 6 + Newcastle/Leicester and a doped up other club.

In that scenario I think I would rather we were in the Championship where you could at least have some competition and hopes of coming top / going to Wembley which is a sad indictment of the top of the Premier League these days.

So uncompetitive
So unattractive

It would be naive/ignorant to believe Everton stand still at that point too.

Either the Usmanov link becomes formal or the club owner will be looking to bag a takeover himself.

I didn't say Everton would be standing still. Neither will they.

They want Tarkowski from Burnley as their first signing in January lol
Because they're still Newcastle. Their prime aim now is staying up.

Tarkowski is a decent CB, in a position they need, and will be on the cheap as he's out of contract at the end of the season.

So unlike us spending £25m on Keane, they'll get a player of similar (possibly greater) quality for £10m

You said it's much better than Everton's buy out, that we'' face pressure on our place in the pecking order. You said nothing about the possibilities open to Everton to offset that.

I love this sport. A game of who has the most money. Such a triumph of competitive sport.

The ESL will come to be, no doubt.
Football will return to its 50's or 60's heritage for everyone else.
What do we want; money, power, glory, being part of the elite or winning (potentially), leagues, cups and Lowly Euro participation as per the 60's, 70's, 80's?
