Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Id have said Conte would be the best option, he'd keep them up and attract players.

With him, they could spend £300mil next summer and jumpstart into the top 8 places in the league.

I dont think Potter would even keep them up, the players they have wouldnt be able to adapt to his tactics and what they need is someone to attract players and keep them up.

If hes turned them down then i would say Dyche would be a good choice but the Geordies wouldnt be happy with his football so its a non starter.

Who would you think is best?

Apparently 30miles from their head office or something as well?

Hopefully they come in for some of our players including Keane.

I expect there to be alot of new developments with condos, office buildings etc popping up in Newcastle over the next 10 years....they will want to 'takeover' the city.

What renewables do you mean?

Theyre the only ones on the planet worse than the Saudis.

Id be gutted if we sold out to Chinese.
STCC stops them spending 300 million as they can only raise their wages structure by x amount a season. Thought I suppose they could do stupid goal bonus and stuff.

Newcastle are still Newcastle. Tarkowski, who only has 5 months left on his deal come Jan, would be a smart signing.

It's smarter than us going and paying £25m like we did for Keane, for example.

Its about the same. It's a decent signing. Not one you wouldn't think Newcastle would've been capable under Ashley if he wasn't a bell.

he won't cost them £25m, though.

But yes, that's because that's where they are for now. The rest of the PL is rich, it isn't going to be like City in 2008.

But if they get it right, then a few years down the line you could be looking at a very different proposition.

Usmanov is 100% in this for Liverpool Waters. Not that he's going to have a monopoly or anything but it's a massive development.

How so? Hes not invested is he?

Think thats been scrapped although, if not it will probably change next year through a revenue model where the Saudis just sponsor things like USM and get around it.

So the owners of Newcastle will, I suppose, now start pouring money in, getting around FFP with things like insane sponsorship deals etc. Looks to me like our owners aren’t going to do this anytime soon so I think within 3/4 seasons Newcastle will be another team to breeze past us. So frustrating to watch your club become, well, Newcastle. Just there to make up the numbers. I think we really have to hope that FFP is scrapped soon and Moshiri (and friends) can start spending like he says he wants to.

I don't think they will.

They could get relegated this season.

Bruce is gone this week. Jones will takeover, then they will bring in someone like Martinez by January.

If we keep up our current form, we could potentially be in Europe next season.

There's a lot of ground to make up for Newcastle. In terms of squad, they're at least a season behind us and about 5 seasons behind the top 3.

If they get Martinez, we know he's hit and miss, if he's a miss, then it's another manager and another rebuild.

I don't think it's going to be as simple as spend 500 mil and get in the champions league, I think it's going to be years of rebuilding.

The PIF has access to more money than the top 10 richest clubs in world football combined

They won't be able to spend all their money due to FFP and Premier League restrictions, just as we found out the hard way.

Unless they have a plan to get around the Premier League restrictions all they can do is what we have done. Spend big for a few years then have to sell.

He's not.
But if he's investing in Everton, and the flagship development of Liverpool Waters is BMD, then you can safely bet USM will be looking at a way to get involved in property around BMD too.

I know mate.

Look, I'm not saying they're going to do a City.

As it stands, because of how tight Ashley was, Newcastle are actually in a decent position to go and spend £100-200m in the next two windows though.

But, they're Newcastle, so that £100-200m isn't going to suddenly attract amazing players. They need to build from a lower base first, so it's going to be a process.
