News of Ex Players

As someone else repied to you noting 'legal action'.

Probably not legal action but a case could be put forward with regards to the financial side as it's an asset that has become unsellable for reasons beyond Everton's control. I get your point re: Mendy/Johnson but just because they haven't, doesnt mean it isnt the right thing to do and that can be leaned on in any such argument to the PL.

As I said, it's a potential avenue the club may go down, not neccessarily one that would work or would be followed.
Yep. The club could also state they were protecting PL's reputation also when suspending the said player.

Under the law he is innocent (as in innocent until proven guilty). Some people might want to think that he's guilty based on 'well the police wouldn't have arrested him if he hadn't done anything', but that's just prejudice/lazy thinking (just ask the Birmingham 6). I feel confident that the people who do think that way would want people like me to speak up for them, if they were unfortunate enough to be wrongly accused of anything. Having said all that, employers can still make their own investigation based on a lesser standard of proof (the balance of porbability). I don't think that there will be much appetite for that from Everton or the Premier League but he might want to push for it to help clear some more mud - he'll never get rid of it all, some people will always think that there's no smoke without fire. Of couse he might not want to do that for any number of reasons........including that he thinks that he'd be found guilty under this lesser standard!!!
