That sort of captain is a bit outdated. Like Roy Keane.
Bit unfair on Roy Keane that, yes he was an arsehole often but he was also a winner, he also could read the game extremely well and motivate the players to be winners. I'm a big fan of CM captains and if we had signed Hojbjerg there wouldn't be a question of who should be captain.

I went for Holgate. Recent comments from players suggest the two players who communicate on the pitch are Coleman and Holgate. Allan admits he is quite shy.

No doubt he was a great player and captain - however I don’t think his leadership style would go down well in todays game.

Allan played like a captain the other night.

Who voted Richarlison and where can I buy the same stuff you're smoking?

Allan definitely plays like a capatain on the pitch but I think the issue with him being captain could be when it comes to influencing the ref. I get the feeling that refs have sort of marked his card as a dirty / gamesmanship sort of player so wouldn't listen to him.

No one stands out to me. Think if Dom was a few years older he'd get my vote. This attitude, professionalism and the way he conducts him is what I'd want in an Everton captain.

For me your captain should be a defender, they see the whole game in front of them so can give instruction and hand bollicking's out if needed. John Terry is a prime example of a boss captain.

Yeah true and nobodies getting taken seriously with that tache

I agree. However, I think it's a shame that players these days are more likely to cry if Keane shouted at them than be motivated.
I think it's clear that when you look at our squad, leaders are something that we don't have. If only Allan had a better grasp of English.

We definitely have too many weak hearts.

Think it's a bit old hat that myself don't necessarily think it matter where you are on the pitch you can see the patterns of play, who's not pulling their weight, who needs encouragement what players are causing you trouble. Think it's more important whoever and where they play they are leading by example from the off.

Holgate? He seems to get his mouth around, he pants like a captain and isn’t afraid to shout at someone how isn’t doing something right

Holgate stands out a mile for me, though as long as Seamus starts he keeps it, then potentially becomes club captain ala Jags when he’s not first choice any more. Think we’d really benefit from getting a pecking order sorted and sticking to it, passing it round cheapens it. Personally, for me it’d be;

Coleman
Holgate
Allan
Digne

As for others who’ve been captain, as much as I like Keane he’s no captain. Nor is Gylfi. Davies shouldn’t even enter the conversation.
