I finally sparked the war I was looking for and my thread gets locked. I respect Groucho but ffs. It's called throwing a blind eye for the sake of Entertainment.

Apparently very keen to manage over here and has even learnt English specifically, with only Chelsea above us looking for a manager if he was to come to England where else would he go?

Like anything with us, we will always be down the list of any top talent.

Fonseca will have loads of options who will pay well and boost his profile. If they don't pan out... we'll be that 3rd or 4th choice.

I personally just ask that BEFORE we hire a new manager, we have a D of F in the door. We need to decide what we want to be FIRST before we pick a manager that can execute the vision.

I have done some research on Vitor Pereira and his record is pretty cack. Not sure what so many on here see in him but, based on his performance record, I would think hiring him would be a big risk.

Left field name, Claude Puel, in 1/4 finals now with Leicester took them to 8th and probably 7th imo, unlucky with Southampton and has done well in Europe

Since 2011 he has won 2 league titles with Porto, 2 cups with Porto, a double with Olympiakos and finished 2nd in the league and cup runners up in charge of Fenerbahce.

I'm not sure I'd hire him but we'd be building statues of managers who won 3 leagues and 3 cups in 4 years.

As I've mentioned, there were a lot on here who were really clamouring for his appointment as Everton manager (ahead of the phenomenal Bobby). Judging from the new information you've provided, (and thank you btw), it seems 'team Vitor' (as that GOT faction were keen on calling themselves) had every right to be feeling more than a little miffed that 'their' man was not appointed.
And you are not wrong about us erecting statues to honour a man with Vitor's track record.
Personally, I think he sounds an ideal candidate and I'm hoping our Board show a little vision and get him in asap.
