Fat Sam saved Palace when he was called in at Xmas and they were bottom. Similar job at WHU. Saved Newcastle who sacked him and then went
down. Sam has also done what was asked of him at EFC; he has failed to convince for the long-term job but the point is that Sam can manage and will deliver.

Silva has done nothing. He had a chance at Hull and blew it and then got another chance at Watford and proved to be disloyal.

How about Howe who has done a top job at B'mouth? But Silva...

I'm not saying Silva is the man but he's a far better option than BFS

You're first paragraph there just confirms what we know, that Sam is a fire fighter.Apart from Bolton where he slowly built things up over a number of years he's spent most of the time in the bottom half of the premiership playing dire football which we were unfortunate enough to witness last season.

Howe has done an ok job at Bournemouth but got homesick last time he took a job up North at Burnley.

After Silvas first 11 games at Hull, Silva have won 5 and amassed 17 points with a goal difference of -2 only Us, Chelsea and Spurs had a better record. Yes he fell short but they didn't have the quality to save themselves

He fell short. Sam did not either at Palace or at WHU.

So you do you want a bloke who fell short and at his next gig was disloyal? Or a manager like Howe who took a Division Two team and made them an attractive mid-table team on no money?.

He has spent some money, 21mil on a couple of Liverpool rejects. And I would say Howe is more Martinez than silva.

8 games 4 wins 3 draws and 1 loss was 4th before we approached him.

Just after we got Sam their record was 15 games 6 wins 4 draws and 5 losses

When they sacked him 24 games 7 wins 5 draws and 12 losses. They really did fall off a cliff

Yes i want Silva, Even Sam wouldn't have saved Hull and finally ....Name 1 other account of a manager being poached mid season from a lesser team and him not going...because i cant think of one

Ah you mea
n like Brian Clough..?
Sacked at Derby....agreed to joinn Brighton anf shook on it...binned them when a better offer appeared...joined Leeds who were champions ..4pts from 5 games and was sacked.. Swerve...
Off with their heads i say !

When was he disloyal btw?

Did you reasoning include factoring that hull were already a dead team walking that be almoat reacued
Did it consider the excellent job he was soung at watford until he lost the dressing room because his head was turned or is it just based on one dimensional thinking

This is a results based profession, which seems fairly one dimensional. However being relegated at Hull, and losing the dressing room at Watford would put him behind a number of merry go round managers who did rescue a sinking ship.
But let’s agree to disagree, I think he’s mediocre, you obviously don’t, let’s hope you can shout me out with silverware or champions league come next May.

I have said now for two seasons get Eddie Howe in. He is most certainly not top 4 material but then at this moment neither are we. Why cant we both grow together. I would rather a man who prefers attacking football and refuses to loose even at the 90 min mark. Sick to death of managers and players only coming for the money. I would like a manager who actually sees this as his dream job....the players too for that matter. Snides.... Koeman...stand up and be chastised. It is however sunday and the bbq mix of stellabud is now in full swig. Eddie Howe FTW !!!

What Silva did at Hull was verging on the miraculous. They were all but gone when he came in and he came agonisingly close to keeping them up. He also got them to a semi-final.

He’s done well at every club he’s ever been at, unlike many of the other bookies’ favourites such as Moyes and Ranieri. Even Watford were still top 10 when Silva was sacked.

Eddie Howe is a cracking shout to be fair. He’s like Martinez but with more tactical nous and less BS. And you get the impression that he’s a man of integrity, a rare commodity in modern football.
