You say it was the same squad Phelan had, he signed 8 players in the January window.

He gave it a good shot, but he failed to keep them up, so IMO he failed, it doesnt mean I dont want him, but I certainly wouldnt be putting relegating a team in the positive column.

he did have Hulls most influential player sold from underneath him in January too. Snodgrass. his form for hull up to that point was outstanding

That's not my point. I mean no one would want fella who managed 9 teams before and had something like 2 seasons at top flight at age of 50. He's now one of the most highly rated manager in the world.
