Sorry but some on here are trying to re-write the history of the last 4 games. Apart from the second half at Chelsea we have been clueless. Yes at times we've had a lot of the Ball (because the opposition are happy for us to have it) but never look like doing anything with it. The selections have been woeful such as not picking vlasic after he'd shown that apart from Pickford hes been the best of the summer signings and sigurdson up front away at Lyon when we needed to win, and anybody who calls it a dead rubber of a game needs to get a grip a team like ours in a position like ours needs to be going out to get results not surrender. No I'm afraid Unsworth has had his audition and flopped back to the U23's or assistant to actually learn his trade.

Not quite at the extreme of either end of these opinions

2nd half against Chelsea was good, albeit against a slightly depleted side
2nd half against Leicester was ok, but Leicester were happy to defend their lead at that point
First 60 mins against Lyon were ok. We fell apart after we made an attacking change to try to nick the win and we got an unlucky break
We were decent against Watford after they went 2-0 up, before that we weren't great. Win was welcome, but not without a large slice of good fortune

He's lost 3 of his 4 games and if he wanted the job he probably needed to do more than that. Having said that, I do think performances have improved, even if results have not. There has been effort and a bit of pace in the side, which was missing under Koeman.

Is it enough to warrant him getting until the end of the season? Probably not. We won't have a new manager by the weekend, so if he can follow up the Watford win with another against Palace (and I have my doubts), we can maybe think again - really think it's a game-by-game situation at the moment, but if the right candidate comes along, we should appoint him straight away

Correct sir!!!

You conveniently forget that we had a lot of our reserve team out in that game, I wouldn't mind Batshuiy as our reserve striker.

We didn't get battered by Leicester, breakaways and defensive errors cost us, oh and that penalty we should have had at 1-0. Here's some match stats... http://www.skysports.com/football/leicester-vs-everton/stats/356509

Niasse cup tied and Calvert-Lewin playing a lot and very hit and miss, so he tried Sigurdsson there, who has played there for Swansea, had a good game against us as a striker actually.

Davies wasn't playing as a winger at all, right side of a three midfield, but I will agree about Rooney.

WE looked better at lyon and only went behind to the type of deflection that never falls in our favour.

Chelsea we looked pretty decent.

Leicester we should have had a penalty and onc again we had a piece of outrageous misfortune.

We beat Watford.

Not saying he's the answer but there's been a clear improvement.

...I got the impression Lyon were in 2nd gear, fortunately they only put their foot on the pedal late on. Quotes from the Leicester dressing room suggest they couldn’t believe how we set up against them. They scored two goals and shut up shop. I fear they could’ve scored again if the need arose.

I hope i’m wrong, but I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet at Palace. The void in front of our full backs is made for Zaha. We just don’t look capable of keeping teams out and until we do we will continue to struggle.

OK first I don't want Unsworth but you have a lot of generalisations above.

The Lyon game he done the right thing. You go toe-to-toe with them with that squad in that state you get picked off. They should have scored 5 at Goodison. So instead he tightens it up to make sure we still have a chance going into the last half hour. It's 0-0 and Fekir has left the pitch so to call that clueless is, well, clueless. The problem was needing to score and he knew he had to gamble hence the subs. Guess what happened, we got picked off. It was a hiding to nothing but he actually showed intelligence and awareness in that game, unpalatable as it may be to free-flowing football purists.

If we lose to Palace on Saturday, the panic on here will be unreal and our burning of bridges with Allerdyce will look stupid and costly.

For me, the club have read way too much into the Watford win. We were shocking and got out of jail.
Indeed, amazing what an international break can do to people's perspective!

I will be genuinely shocked if we keep a clean sheet... Just don't think we have it in us at the moment.

The set up from Unsy in some of these games has been worse then Koemans imo - which has been shockingly worrying.

He played SigFace up front on his own in a game we had to win.

Great move.
