The only Englishman managing a team in European competition this season aside from David Unsworth? That will be Graham Potter, of course, who takes Östersunds of Sweden to Athletic Bilbao on Thursday night as leaders of their Europa League group, having spent some of his weekend watching Barcelona – victors in the Basque Country on Saturday.

I hope the club at least have tried to get him in! Think he would be a coup considering the work he has done with Ostersunds FK. Taking a team from Swedish 4th tier to Europa League knockout phase in less than 7 years is nothing

but incredible.

Looks more like a man who should get the Burnley job when we get Dyche. To big a step up for him in terms of club for him now

If the club remain silent today after another crushing embarrassment yesterday, that will just go to prove even further how clueless they are at the task they have in hand.

We are not taking Aston Villa style regular drubbings like the season they went down.

Losing 5-1 at home to Atlanta really is down there with the lowest we have been IMO, they are a mid table Italian outfit without any real purpose.

Mosh and Kenwright are looking totally incompetent and need to do something now just to save face and give us some glimmer of hope.

What if it's always been Big Sam, but because of the mass disapproval across social media when he was first linked they've all played it down, got him to deny it then thrown out some Simeone links to settle us and finally they leave an out of depth Unsworth in charge until the situation becomes critical and suddenly Sam is more palatable and most of us apathetically accept him over relegation!

lol lol

Can’t believe there wasn’t movement on this last night. Not even a credible favourite for the role. Absolutely criminal if this stretches on another week. Had to be sorted before the West Ham game to end the uncertainty.

The corner the board have backed themselves into with this amazingly bad business is that the new manager has to be big now. There is no doubt about it, we need a manager now that is worth the wait. If we get Silva then fine, chased him for long enough but a dyche type appointment just makes you question why it wasn't done weeks ago.

This is entering the 6th week today of the manager search, and if all we come back with is dyche or someone equally underwhelming then I think it's going to create a toxic atmosphere at the club
