The initial delay in appointing a new manager by getting us into the international break was understandable, since then to have nobody lined up and put in place is bordering on criminal negligence. For it to go any further this week is just making the club a laughing stock, and Moshiri has to take the blame for it. He is the majority shareholder and does not need anybody else's support in any decision the club makes its now his trainset as it was kenwright before him. The longer this goes on the harder it's getting to find anyone other than the out of work managers that nobody really wants to take over. Get it done moshiri show some management and balls appoint someone and get the club organised before its too late and relegation becomes a foregone conclusion rather than a possibility.

Leicester? Pearson. Stoke with Pulis? Palace have had Pulis and Allardyce and are still just about alive and kicking. I see your point though, most do eventually go down but that is inevitable for every club outside the top 6 apart from one which has bucked the trend so far....

Is that not in part because a club in the top 6 would never consider some type of appointment like that no matter the situation?

In part I think it’s because without huge investment all of the 14 below the 6 are always one bad managerial appointment, transfer window, or or injury crisis away from a relegation battle. They normally circle the drain for a bit whilst their better players leave. Ironically I thought with the arrival of Moshiri we may have moved ourselves out from that sort of space. His money may yet show that to be true if we bring in Silva then have a decent January window.

It's an absolute disgrace mate and I can't see how Walsh is still in a job because of it. Didn't anyone form the top question why they were after so many if the same? Didn't anyone have a quiet word in their ear to say "hey, aren't you a little concerned that the defence look a little lightweight and over the hill?"

A shambles mate, Moshiri, Kenwright, Elstone, Koeman, Walsh - these 5 have been nothing short of a disgrace this season. I'd be embarrassed to show my face out in the public if I was them currently, an absolute laughing stock who seem as clueless as they look.

No shame in Unsworth being out of his depth, he knew he had a 3 game audition, bit what's he had now, 6/7?? I think even he is hoping it ends asap because every game he takes charge of is another game where his reputation gets a battering as it shows his flaws and inexperience

Exactly mate. The clubs been a disgrace from the top to the bottom. Walsh should have went with Koeman, and would be sacked in any other line of work.

Why were hanging on for Giroud when they should have gave him a deadline to give us an answere so we could move on to other targets? Pure amateurs in charge.

The silence is deafening when things aren’t going well from the board. I feel sorry for Unsworth, them shithouses (including and especially the players), have hung him out to dry. He’s done his best but it was obvious he wasn’t good enough.

We’re done if we get relegated which is a real possibility.

Yet we're talking about taking a manager from Burnley, the same manager that went down and straight back up with them?

We are talking about taking a manager from Watford - a club which less than ten years ago was i think innthe 4th tier of the league and facing administration.

Current league champions in my first 10-15 years following Everton where a yo yo club, the probable new champions and best team in the country - spent more years of my life in lower divisions than the top league.

The only two teams outside Arsenal, United, Chelsea and City - where both teams that have spent the majority of their history outside the top division - including being relegated within 5 years prior to them of winning that top division title - Blackburn and Leicester.

Allardyce is no guarantee of safety anyway, it's a media narrative, the same teams he kept up - had been kept up in similarly bad situations by the likes of Di Cannio or other similarly crap managers

It's a sad state of affairs that's for sure. Utterly depressing to see us going through this mess

The priority has to be getting through to May with PL status intact.

Any more ambitious and lofty talk has IMO to be suspended until we are stabilised.

Just have to concentrate on getting out of this crisis, this is the immediate brief for the new manager.

God help him with the board he has to work with.

When you have chaos and confusion on this scale, I'd say an Allardyce appointment would have been the least of our problems. I suspect he too, even offered it again on preferential terms, like others, will not want it now.

Spot on. It’s upsetting to see his good history with the U23 forgotten as he has inherited this wet mess to babysit whilst the board handwringing continues over a new manager.

Agreed mate and I now think it will be very difficult for him to go back to that job. It' like working your way up to be the manager of a business to be told 4 weeks later that they want you to go back to mopping the toilet floors.
