So, who else if not Mourinho?
You know he's in contention for PSG too, right?
Also, he's only won 2 UCL so far, 6 years apart and 7 years since his last UCL win.
And we're talking about a project that will take years.
Mourinho has not lasted more than 3 seasons at 1 single club.

Whats this PSG nonsense? Theyve given blanc a 4 year extension.

If we want him we would get him.

If the story about Koeman sitting tight and waiting another year in the hope of getting a bigger job i.e Arsenal, then he's playing a very dangerous game.

At the moment his stock is very high and football is a very short sighted business. In 12 months if he's had a stinker at Southampton and struggled to juggle Europe with the Premier League, will Arsenal and the like still be interested? Doubtful.

In football you should strike while the iron is hot so if we're offering to significantly increase his wages, whilst offering him a golden opportunity to progress the club by giving him funds far bigger than he'll get at Southampton, then he'd be a fool to turn us down IMO.

There are no guarantees he'll ever get offered anything better, especially if he doesn't improve on what he's achieved at Southampton this season which is entirely probable.

Would have thought Emery would be offered anything he wants to stay at Sevilla. However if he was available or interested I'm sure there would be contact.

I'm not aware of anything in this respect though.
There's a very interesting series of tweets from Rory Smith at The Times last night - he makes it clear that Emery has hit the ceiling at Sevilla, he wants to come to England, he wants to talk to Everton and he's heard it from a good source. Given his record this is surely a no brainer.
This is the first of them -

But there's quite a few more and when questioned he repeatedly says that Emery is interested and he's heard it from a good source. The question is what are Everton doing about this?

Honestly that is just rubbish, Emery's first two teams he managed both promoted, both to highest league position they've had, negative net spend at Valencia of -£63 million, finished 6,3,3,3. Sevilla negative net spend -£83 million, finished 5,5&7. I think one season he had 18 players coming in and one season 11 players coming in. He's constantly selling his best players and bringing young players in. If you think that's really average then I think you need to adjust your point of view!

Emery is an excellent manager, our club should try to contact him, although the chance of Emery interested to our club may be low...the same situation of Mourinho

As I've mentioned previously we've a process in place so if he's interested and we are interested I wouldn't worry about us missing each other.

But thanks, will check Rory's tweets - I've been partially out the loop for a few days travelling.

I would hope we are interested, his overall record is very impressive. It would be a big mistake to not have a serious conversation with him about the job.
