I think to dismiss his achievements in winning multiple Europa Leagues and focus purely on his league performance this season is too critical. Firstly, I've heard that Sevilla definitely sacrificed league games in preparation for Europa League this season, and secondly - who else on our list of candidates has such an impressive record - higher echelons of La Liga and proven winner. Only José - and we're not getting him.

I'd take Emery every day of the week ahead of FDB, and his appointment would excite me a hell of a lot more than Koeman.

The lack of English is nothing - you can become fluent in a language in 3 months if you're immersed in it. It's not like we've never had foreign managers in the Premier League before!

I think any of the seriously mentioned candidates have their positives so I'll be fairly happy either way.

Obviously Emery is a top manager but an awful lot of Sevilla's recruitment success is down to Monchi, so it's hard to say what he'd do if he had funds to spend himself.

The table doesn't lie won 14 lost 14 scored 51 against 50 is this not similar to Martinez stuff only thing is he won the Europa league three times in a row and yes he has been very good with money what ever the decision our board have a very hard decision on there hands
The difference being he seems to have had one bad season in his career(although 7th and EL isn't that bad). Martinez on the other only had one good season.

So the last whispers we got from The Oracle (The Esk) was that Koeman was being hunted but "The One" Jose was not out yet ( done in a Matrix move voice over).

Any change on that?

Emery has just gone on the list straight behind Mourinho for me, a manager that can transform his team with no subs like he did last night just from a 15mins half time team talk is exactly what we need here.

The difference in Sevilla from 1st to 2nd half was astonishing, at halftime I was thinking they had no chance and was resigned to the RS getting into the CL.

Just to give some balance, the RS lost more points from winning positions than any other PL team this season, so there may have been an element of them being a first half team. Don't forget they gave up a 2 goal lead at Southampton, maybe we should look at Koeman :p

Meanwhile Times journalist Rory Smith says that Sevilla manager Unai Emery would be amenable to an approach from Everton.

Not sure how reliable Mr Smith is but I like that idea a lot.

I like Emery, made some good money backing against Sevilla in La Liga this last few weeks as he rested players for last night. The fact he has beaten the RS also helps. If we can't get Jose i'd be happy with him.

I'm not sure why there's (a small ammount) of love for Pellegrini. I can honestly say I'd prefer Martinez for another year than him. He's failed at City, badly.

My top 3 now would be

Mou
Emery
Koeman

Amazing what 45 mins of footy can do. Lol at me.
