How often do you hear from the owners of the other clubs?

West Ham and the dildo brothers aside of course.

True but aside from when he first paid up we've heard literally nothing. He's not even come out with a generic "Everton are currently looking for a manager that fits and matches our ambitions in this new era blah blah". Would be nice to know what direction he sees the club going in.

I think the most damning indictment of Pellegrini is that fact that in his last season, his players couldnt be arsed! That suggests to me that despite being a very nice man, he could not command the respect of the dressing room? So swapping one spanish speaking, incredibly affable, but ultimately incapable man manager for another makes no sense?

I'd be more than happy with Pellegrini, he proved his worth at Malaga and given the way Citeh have handled him this season I think he's behaved with dignity and retained the respect of his staff (something Martinez couldn't do). It's reported today in the Daily Heil that we are talking to him, one way or the other I expect an appointment this week, we've had enough time to make the right decision and leaving it any longer makes us look like we don't have control of the situation. Pelli or Emery for me, don't mind which.

Particularly with De Boer but also with Koeman that is simply not true, when you look at what both have won as players and managers they are streets ahead of Pellegrini.

De Boer with the biggest budget in Holland never finished outside of the top 2 and won 4 leagues in a row. Pellegrini with the biggest budget in the league has won the league once in 3 seasons and leaves a side 4th two places above Southampton.

They have at times played some fantastic football. I think that's largely down to the quality of players he has inherited (Aguero, Silva, Toure). Defensively they have always looked a soft touch and in spite of spending close to 100 million of defenders they have never looked right when Kompany is injured.

Pellegrini would be massively out of his depth here and would be a terrible fit. He relies on managing world class players which we do not have. Koeman and De Boer are able to develop younger players and make them better.
De Boer didn't have the biggest budget in Holland. They consistently sold their best players and relied on youth and free/cheap transfers. PSV had a much bigger budget.

It shouldnt be suprise to anyone that Pellegrini and probs his squad too werent arsed from time to time. If manager isnt wanted by his club why would he be arsed...that naturally effects players too.

Jose lost his players in the final year at Chelsea (twice). The position City have fallen to is one that Wenger has regularly finished in. Ancelloti lost his way at Chelsea. Every manager has those sorts of dips at some point. 4th and a trophy with a run to the CL semi final is no longer a bad season for any of the big clubs. This season alone in his supposed failure he has outperformed Mourino, Van Gaal, Klopp, Pochettino and Wenger. This was against a backdrop of player injuries and the announcement he was leaving. He is a very good manager with a proven record in domestic cups, the league, and in Europe. He's shown he can build teams and handle top players. Really surprised to see people turning their nose up at one of the prem's top managers.

Yeah that was crazy announcing Guardiola as manager in January, completely derailed their season! However I think it would have been leaked (or had it already been?) from elsewhere and so perhaps they had to come out and be the 'first' to officially announce it? Who knows. In any case it backfired spectacularly.
